I enjoyed it enough! There were some meh tracks for me, but also some really fun ones too. Title Track and the singles are among my faves.

oh, was it this track? i forget. This was Body Bag, right? (already forgetting what I quoted lol) I was so stoked for that one and not disappointed.

edit: oh, and my own thought here-I sent in a note for the Untitled TOYPAP Podcast months ago, and I'm still awaiting it to come out...but now I'm cringing at what I wrote. lol i mean, my opinions have changed and/or developed. The history/story is still there, but I also wasn't sure exactly how much they wanted, so it's very simple. lol I probably could make my own episode on this album now, but it's not my podcast and i'm not gonna do that...but I could, if I wanted. lol Anyone else participate or know about it/the pod??

Also, I meant to say this too. Started a couple of your pod episodes. I think it's totes fun! And I like the idea of learning as you go, since you both come from other fandoms. Just, I wish I had more time. These days I'm needing the quick info stuff on the bands/the music. And pretty sure I said before I'm not much of a pod person, and that's cuz I can't just listen and carry it around on my phone. So, even tho I'm virtually a nobody, maybe it means something that I've been giving it some attention?? I liked the Tool Time bit in the Denver Mint episode, and listened to 30minuts of the last one (the Futures song). Uhh, but please let me know when Jim is on! ;) maybe ill find an interview section before then, but I'd love to hear that one. Good luck!

I just listened to Nine again for the first time since it was released and it's actually not bad at all. Darkside might be the best song they've released since Skiba joined. Ransom and Pin the Grenade also standouts. I'm sure it's been discussed 100 times already but the first time around nothing stood out at all and I'm not sure why

 

I’m just incredibly bored with Matt Skiba. Maybe that’s his shitty behavior seeping into that as well, but even the last Alkaline Trio record was really all about Dan for me.

 

Agreed. Plus the Dan and Emergency Room stuff is top notch. I personally enjoyed that far more than any recent Alk3 stuff.

 

ehh, hard disagree re: Is This Thing Cursed, which was the best Alk3 record in a decade with high quality stuff from both Matt and Dan. I don't think he really does anything for Blink though

Cursed is pretty easily my least favorite Dan Trio record. Virtually always skip Help and Ribbon.

Despite that still my third favorite Trio album as a whole.

This is kinda funny, cause I always thought this song kinda sounded like blink:

 

I feel like Tom's voice could actually sound really good over that kind of production
