Interview + Darkside and ATST acoustic

What does Matt say on 12:50 that makes Mark laugh so loud? EDIT: starting from "human race"

 

Am I crazy, or is Matt playing his parts of Darkside insanely fast and then has to slow down when Mark comes in with his verse?

They actually sound pretty good on the choruses of ATST

 

"The end is nigh"

 

The Bridge on Lillian is one of Mark's best ever.

 

And the whole sentence please? Starting from "human race"

 

Happy Days and Generational Divide are the only ones I tend to skip.

 

I keep coming back to this album.

 

I'll just keep doing what I am doing.. [Starts NINE again for full replay].

But really, I don't skip tracks and I have been playing NINE and Simple Creatures back to back the past few days and it's just been solid.

 

Bayside put out probably my favorite album by them and they're a top 5 band for me, yet I still have to like resist the urge to throw NINE back on haha

 

The only one I skip is track 16

 

Out Of My Head is skippable

i thought matt was freaking out during ATST cause his teleprompter stopped working

 

No I think you're right. Chorus on Darkside feels way fast

 

It's like Matt just wants to gtfo of there haha

 

tempo is all over the place and he's kinda strumming the wrong pattern, but in his defense the vocal phrasing has a kind of odd swing to it that really comes out when it's just acoustic

 

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. If I had to guess, I’d say they probably didn’t really rehearse this in any specific way and just said “meh, we’ll try the regular version acoustically”.

Some bands are good at transposing their songs to an acoustic version by adjusting things that don’t really sound right without a full band. This sounds more like they decided to give it a shot playing it normally and then Matt was like “wait, this kind of sucks” lol

Mark’s face when the chorus hits and promptly falls apart really says it all.


I think if they reconfigured and adjusted their rhythm to match the vocal it could connect. I dunno if Skiba’s low register delivery on the chorus sells the hook tho

 

I’m paraphrasing but he basically says the human race has been eating away at Mother Earth for so long and the end is nigh. We only have about 200 years left and we’ll be gone.

 

Who wants to see Tom back at this point? I honestly would be okay if he never came back in any official capacity. Maybe they did festival dates with the original lineup, but I have a hard time believing they could ever recapture the magic again in the form of a cohesive album.

NINE has me happy with the present but very excited about the future. I hope that another killer album from Blink, and hopefully a successful album release run of shows from AVA will bring down the "When is Tom coming back" chatter.

 

I would prefer blink-182 with Tom.

 

Nine finally proved to the band and the fans that Blink doesn't "need" Tom. I'm perfectly happy with him not being in the band now that I've heard Nine.

 

As much as I like Nine, I still want Tom to come back eventually.

 

So if Blink was doing a tour like Taking Back Sunday currently is, What 3 albums would blink do? EOTS, TOYPAJ and Untitled are my guess.
