Easy choice with TOYPAJ.

I'm sitting here trying to decide if it's TOYPAJ or Box Car Racer... Those 2 albums are very equal to me. Both were very important albums for early 2000s Bradsonemanband. I can't choose between my 2 babies!

BCR = TOYPAJ >>>>>>> Cheshire >>> WDNTW

 

Dude Ranch would have made more sense, I think. For the people who were like, "They sold out with Enema! They're not punk anymore!"

Pretty strong confirmation bias in here. If no one had access to the writing credits, most of these “ugh pop songwriters makes this sound inauthentic. Not my blink!!!!!” arguments would not happen.

I take Boxcar over TOYPAJ any day.

 

Damn, yeah. I think I’d have to go Box Car over TOYPAJ. That match is tough.

 

Tough because Boxcar is Tom's peak to me. But TOYPAJ has Mark songs I love too much (always favored Mark) and TOYPAJ is mostly Tom's rockbottom in my opinion lol.

The math may seem off but I pick Mark stuff I love even if it's not a full album

 

I’d take Cheshire over that BCR album too.

It’s not very good.

 

I'll be honest, I'm fine with never hearing that BCR record again.

 

I tried to listen to it a few years ago and couldn’t make it through.

We found out if @Jason Tate likes BCR. The result may shock you!

 

BCR is an attempt at a sound that a thousand other bands did and do better but with Tom vocals in drop d. Snooze.

 

Yeah, BCR is some of Tom’s best writing.

I’ve now switched to TOYPAJ after remembering Online Songs, Roller Coaster, and Shut Up.

Both are great albums.

 

“And I” may be all I go back to from that record but it’s THAT GOOD!

 

Boxcar at least doesn’t have dudes in their late 20s talking about going to prom so it beats TOYPAJ still.

edit: I still don’t see how BCR sounds like the bands Tom says it inspired it. But it’s like Blink with a twist and I dig it.

 

I think bottom tier Tom is dude ranch. Mark saved that record.
