Nope but some people seem to think because there are co writers/co credits on the newer songs mean that the songs are ‘tainted’ for lack of a better word.

I feel like this is a talking point you have decided to be true and are unwilling to entertain other points of view. Do you have any more evidence than your own certainty as to why this MUST be the case?

Why isn't Machine being credited as you feel so certain Jerry would be? Is Joe Barresi getting that 2019 crediting? Chiccarelli? Aaron Sprinkle? Will Yip? Mike Sapone? Ross Robinson? Shane Stoneback? Jonathan Schenke? Matt Hyde? John Vanderslice? Chris Coady? Neal Avron? Matt Allison? John Congleton? Dave Fridmann?

How do you have time for this? The aliens aren’t just going to expose themselves.

  4. Because I've spent 20 years intensely involved in the music industry and follow the trends. Also, I'm internet friends with a shit ton of producers and songwriters for hire.

Because none of these people are working with a band of Blink-182's size or are even close to Jerry's stature as a producer that can dictate it happen. The albums produced by this list will barely sell as many copies over their entire lives as Blink did in their first week. You're comparing apples to tiny ass raisins.

I think Neal Avron, Ross Robinson, and Joe Chiccarelli may disagree with your belittling of their careers, but sure.

For me, "because i say so" isn't a very compelling point of view, but I also suspect you don't actually have anything to support your point of view, so I'm gonna move along.

I don't understand why you act like a cyber bully so often on your own website, but I'm pulling for your to figure out the chip on your shoulder. You're smart and funny with a lot to add, but your attitude kinda sucks.

No, it literally just sells large numbers of copies every year. It’s pretty much a staple in most vinyl collections it seems. You go into larger record stores and there’s tons of copies displayed for purchase. It’s one of those albums where listening on vinyl seems like the best way to listen for whatever reason.

On a cheerier note, I remember before Lechuza came out Fenix TX was playing some of the songs live and there were a few changes when the record came:

The Tearjerker riff was originally played an octave higher.

And Abba Zabba had a completely different chorus that went something like "Every night I fall asleep with no one, no one is the only one who cares" and I thiiiiiiiink the chords were C, G, A but I can't quite remember.

There were also a few songs that didn't make Lechuza, my favorite one was called "Make Em Say Ungh" (well the mp3 was) and it was like a pop punk banger that interpolated the Master P song. I would die to hear that song again.

There were also a few changes between the leaked version of the record and the CD, the most exciting of which was on the leak the bridge of Phoebe Cates was extended and quoted the keyboard line from The Cars' Moving In Stereo. Does anybody remember this???

EDIT: point being, I wonder what Jerry's involvement in these changes was!

Whats My Age Agains riff slowed down

  9. I don't think Neal would disagree at all, how do I know? Because he's one of my online producer friends!

Pointing at the entire music producing industry and what it looks like in 2019 is not "because I say so" it's "look at how it works right now" and the support is literally pointing to every example of giant producers and bands and how they are now credited, even if a sample is used unknowingly artists will give song writing credits.

You think me saying "Jerry Finn would get a songwriting credit in 2019 on blink songs" is akin to "cyber bulling" ... :ok:

I believe that's what happened with Tigers Jaw on the new Better Oblivion record. They realized a riff they wrote sounded like a TJ song and Phoebe gave them songwriting credit when she realized it.

  15. The most famous recent example is Lil Nas X, with Kurt Cobain having a credit on "Panini."
