Nine is still great.

 

I desperately need something equally good to release so I stop overplaying NINE.

 

The one thing I liked about Down live was the outros. I love when they go off as it reminds me a lot of 03-04 shows.

Bayside, Menzingers and Vinnie Caruana on Friday! (also Lagwagon, Danny Brown and Avett Brothers) but most excited for those first 3

 

I'm so pumped about the new Mezingers'. Otherwise, I have been trying a lot but just can't get too much into Bayside :(

 

Anyway, Liam Gallagher just released a new album (same day as NINE). It's not as good as his first album, but it has some great tracks.

 

Their new songs are so good! If you haven't checked them out yet you definitely should but yeah I cannot contain my excitement for the new Menz

 

Can't get into Liam. Much prefer Noel.

 

I feel bad for Bayside because I've always enjoyed them and each of their albums, but I will not be giving them much attention for a while with Hello Exile being released.

 

Bayside is one of those bands I could never get into, but have seen 4223423 times because they always seem to be touring with bands I like, haha

 

lol same....I didn't/don't go to a TON of shows, but I have seen Bayside 4 times between Alkaline Trio and Taking Back Sunday shows I went to

 

So i hadn't seen the First Date Video in what, 17+ years. It kept showing on my Youtube recommendations so I decided to finally rewatch it. 4 seconds in I'm laughing and almost want to cry. This was why we loved Blink 182. "So I ended up kissing my own brother"-Tom.

Mark Tom and Travis were starring in their video like they always used to do, Josie, Dammit, What's MY Age Again etc. It kinda stopped during Untitled Years. But it reminded me why we loved those guys. It wasn't just the music, it was them. Now, sadly, we can only judge them based on the music and that's not what Blink 182 was originally about. I miss them.

 

I can relate to this. Blink's personalities and humor was a big part of the draw for me as a kid.

 

I don't understand the argument that we only judge them based on music ... Mark's celebrity and personality (and Travis and Matt for others) is still a very big draw for the band.

 

Second this. The self deprecation, the stupid jokes, and the friendship were big draws for me as a kid too.

 

This is me, but replace Bayside with TBS. I've seen them so many times at different shows but honestly never got into them.

 

i see the argument being made about the 97 - 2003 group dynamics and how they're mostly absent nowadays, but i mean, it's part of the band's maturing. i was rewatching the 2014 reading show the other day and yeah, Tom was funny and he and Mark still cracked some jokes together but at times it was cringeworthy and unnatural.

Matt is mostly chill onstage and Mark toned it down after Tom left, but he's still fun to watch. it gives me a relaxed vibe that's more appropriate for them at this point in time imo

 

Mark was hilarious at the Simple Creatures show I went to and he didn’t resort to the immature humor he was known for. I’d love to see him do that at blink shows and to stop using the script they seem to have.

Their personalities was a big appeal for sure. Even yesterday I was watching some really old interviews. And Tom and Marks friendship really helped.

These days Mark is still a really cool dude and that wasn’t lost. But the dynamic between him and Tom is missed for sure (the humor after the reunion got old really fast but yeah)

 

I believe mark once said something like "tom and I just do dumb shit just trying to make travis laugh." Anyway, I'm not going to "argue" the past dynamic. It's just great seeing how they were. I'm sure we can all quote the whole Mark Tom And Travis show. It's the same reason everyone screams "tom has sex with guys!" at the end of Aliens. That was blink 182. I get it though, things change. I'm just nostalgic.
