I feel the same way - growing up I didn't know what the hell Billie Joe Armstrong was saying, but I knew how the song and energy made me feel and his voice sounded awesome. Really just came here to tell you your avatar is rad.
Verses were great, chorus not so much. I get a Simple Plan feel from the Choruses, great for a Simple Plan song, not so much for Blink.
I hate to say it but I just can't get into any of these songs, the production quality is back to where it was prior to Jerry Finn's passing and i'm pleased about that. Skiba sounds great and has brought a lot to the table with his vocal and playing ability, I just don't find the songs appealing whatsoever.
I've noticed that as well along and I really hope that doesn't continue throughout the album. I'm still going to give the record a listen when it's out but so far I'm not impressed.
I haven't purchased a blink album since TOYPAJ, I haven't been into anything they've put out since and thats coming from a fan since '97.
Feldmann putting his usual shine on this. Vocals pushed way way way up in the mix. Catchy tune though. You people actually going to complain about the "Na Na Na's"? It's a Blink 182 record. That's like at least 70% of their discography.
This is the only one of the new songs that I wasn't really into upon first listen. Don't like the chorus melody at all.
I didn't love this song the first listen, but now I've heard it 4x in a row and it's insanely catchy. Really reminds me of something early 2000s (not Blink) and I can't quite put my finger one it...
Agreed. it gets better with more listens, but verses and choruses still sound like it should be two different songs.
The only thing I thought was weird was the drumming in the first verse. Totally throws the rhythm of the vocals off-kilter. It's definitely a weaker track, but not offensively bad or anything. I still think I'm going to dig the album.
