It's okay but pretty boring; it's catchy in that by-the-numbers kind of way. Still better than "Up All Night" which was just kind of a mess. But "Bored to Death">"Edging" in terms of first singles with a new lineup to me at least.
It's pretty cool just definitely interested in hearing what it looks like in the bigger picture (hopefully an album)
It’s alright, Tom’s lyrics in the first verse were a bit cringey. It’s def catchy but I was expecting something more, I can’t place what exactly. Interested to see what the album will be like.
Yeah this is pretty lame, but I doubt this band will ever out out anything on the level of EOTS/TOYPAJ again. Nine had some cool electronic production elements that seemed like a step forward, but here we are back to bland songs.
I like it enough. It’s what I hoped for - - not anything trying to break the mold. Just a straightforward pop punk song with a distinctive, catchy chorus. But there’s something about the way it “sounds” that I’m having trouble with. I see what they were going for. But the vocals just sound off to me, especially in the chorus. Like idk it kind of reminds me of demos that I heard recorded on a Mac in 2008ish.
Positives-Cool to have all 3 members playing on a track together (which means Mark is healthy enough and they can find a way to work together). Negatives-Hearing people complain about Blink with Matt for years and when Tom comes back it’s a super generic song with weak lyrics and something about the mix or production sounds weird. Granted, new songs can take a few listens to settle in, or sometimes songs slot in way better on an album (or sound better than on a YouTube stream). Still looking forward to a new record, but I was hoping for a wow moment in there and kinda feel like the hype was for not.
Honestly I was expecting the worst, but I thought Tom (at least with this song, we’ll see with the rest) has taken a far step back from his really obnoxious style of singing/ word pronunciation. And I am genuinely so glad for that! The song could’ve been from anyone, but I’m still hoping for a record as solid as their self titled.
Yeah Tom sounds great, can't wait to hear the rest of the album hope he keeps it up and doesn't go all AvA.
It's produced well IMO, definitely better than a 2008 garage band demo. Maybe a little too over produced. Guitars are way too low. Vocals are way too front and center and loud. Drums sound great, but maybe a little loud. Everything is over compressed. RIP Jerry Finn. Oh what Neighborhoods could have been.
It's not the best Blink song but I am encouraged that Tom actually sounds like the Tom from Blink and doesn't sound like Tom from Angels and Airwaves trying to sing Blink songs like he did in the past. It's a different vocal style.
This song made me more anxious about Tom's return than excited. It's just bland and boring. Lyrics suck. Even the drums aren't great.
I love the simplicity and catchiness of this song. It’s undeniably blink-182. Playful lyrics, catchy vocal melody, dual Mark and Tom vocals, dancey beat…I’ll gladly enjoy this one. Excited to hear hoe different the other stuff sounds compared to this.
