Amazing then I am glad it's really successful so far. Also i didn't know Young the Giant had a new track, it's fantastic.
I cannot get enough of this song. Makes me wonder what would have happened if this was the song that kicked off the Neighborhoods era.
Up All Night is not a bad song, but the weird alien intro and the random spacey parts throughout just crack me up. It's too cheesy for me.
It debuted at #18 on Billboard/BDS and it's #13 on Mediabase (#49 on Active Rock) daily charts. I'm stunned it's doing so well, reaching #1 doesn't seem impossible... That said, the Red Hot Chili Peppers have a new single coming out tomorrow and that will likely ruin their chances. Here's hoping they won't set the release date of the album for July 1st as well...
Definitely... Someone posted this at a blink fansite: "What's up with RHCP's albums lining up blink or blink related releases? Enema of the State: (06/01/1999) / Californication: (06/08/1999) Untitled: (11/18/2003) / Greatest Hits: (11/18/2003) Stadium Arcadium: (05/09/2006) / We Don't Need To Whisper: (05/23/2006) I'm With You: (08/28/2011) / Neighborhoods: (09/27/2011) It's always a month apart or something. BCR was only 1.5 months with By The Way too. Also blink is honing in on RHCP's California themessssss" Plus, I'm pretty sure it was the RHCP that blocked off "What's My Age Again?" and "Adam's Song" from #1 on Billboard's Alternative Songs.
I really like the chorus in Up All Night, but I agree, the song does have a cheese factor (especially the outta nowhere breakdown at the end lol).
I am fine with the breakdown haha. Just strip away the unnecessary space elements. The way that song starts, before the guitars pick up is not good. Whenever I hear that intro I think of the Simpsons episode with the Leader for some reason lol. So I guess it's not all terrible.
That stuff doesn't really bother me, and I think that song has a great chorus. I didn't dig it at all when first released, but now it's one of my favorites from Neighborhoods.
