I must be really out of the music scene because outside of La Dispute and The Fall of Troy I only know a few of the announced bands. I really want to go this year to hear Wildlife in it's entirety though. I saw them play the whole album at a hometown show last spring and it was amazing. Hands down my favorite show of all time. Anyone have recommendations on who I should check out from the lineup?
it's definitely not because you are "out of the music scene". I went to a ton of shows over the last year and the majority of these artists weren't at any of them. It's not your fault. The list shows how unfortunate the music scene is in terms of putting together solid, diverse tours. I don't know about the rest of the people that regularly post on here, but when I consider going to a show, I generally prefer to go to a show I know the majority of the artists at, because usually when I'm listening to an artist I don't know, I will zone out throughout the set. I think this show is great for some people, but for someone like me who has only listened to maybe 5 or 6 of these artists, and ends up calling themselves an actual fan of one or two of them... I have a few months to fall in love with a couple new artists I guess. I'd recommend starting from the top. PWR BTTM is an artist that is likely high on the bill, so you could start there. My personal favorite on here that isn't La Dispute is Petal. I really enjoyed their album that came out last year. I'm still holding out hope for a few surprises that I'm actually a regular listener of. We'll see.
a lot of it is also they aren't doing a bunch of pop punk bands too, it's just a different scene than some of you people are interested in
I prefer Pop Punk for sure, but this lineup is killing it so far. I would attend this in a heartbeat.
Rival Summers is a cool local. RIYL: Dashboard Confessional, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, The Fray
La Dispute (playing "Wildlife" in full & more) PWR BTTM The Fall of Troy (playing "Manipulator" in full) The Flatliners Into It. Over It. Fuck. I may have to go now. Really don't wanna drive out there though. Sucks the the closest bar is a bit of a hike.
