Very true. But if they don't find a replacement the time slot might get filled by bands off all guys. Guess I really don't know how plausible it is for them to find a fitting replacement. How about Perfume Genius? They got a show on the 25th in Chicago and nothing after.

 

Perfume genius is probably bigger than every band on this bill, and I doubt bled fest even knows the people who work with them. Totally different scenes

 

In an ideal world that would be great to get another non-white, non-CIS, non-dude band but it's so late in the game that idk how doable that would be.

It'd make more sense to just extend the headliners' sets or put some of the smaller bands on main stage that fit that criteria

 

I do hope Nnamdi and Tancred can still play. Bled said they're trying to work it out but we'll see. Those two were really high up on my list of who to see

 

I doubt they will, it's unfortunate but it'd be difficult for them to make the trip all the way out there without playing shows on the way. Not sure where Nnamdi is from though, Tancred lists New England as hometown on FB

 

Nnamdi's from Chicago so it's not a long trip, but I'm sure there are a lot of factors at play.

 

Nate from fusion said they're working on getting them both there to still play the fest so we'll see. I'm not optimistic unfortunately.

 

Oh yeah I could definitely see him still playing. Plus they can pay him some of what PWR BTTM was getting so he has more incentive

 

If they don't get a replacement they should donate the money set aside for PWR BTTM to a charity.

 

DEFINITELY go see Wildhoney if it doesn't conflict with a big band. Baltimore shoegaze / post-punk / dream pop. Really interesting, creative sound, and sounds amazing live.

This is the third band to be removed from the lineup for abuse allegations - The Island of Misfit Toys and The Cardboard Swords being the others.

I feel so bad for Fusion. Even when they were trying to create a lineup free of problematic people, it still found a place in their lineup.

 

Feels a little in bad taste to use the word "congratulations" the paragraph after you're talking about a sexual assault incident, no?

 

Didn't really see it that way. It definitely wasn't my intention to come across that way though.

 

Set times coming tomorrow. Doubt we're getting a replacement at this point so maybe some of the headliners will get longer sets than usual

 

Definitely want to do the Representation in Music panel, and I have some friends on the Safe Space and Local Niche panels that I'd like to support.
