Yea that's a tricky question. It's hard to think of someone roughly the same level of popularity that fits in that slot, especially if they want to pick another band/artist that represents diversity. It's so sad that, even when this festival that was trying super hard to book a diverse lineup and create a safe space for everyone, they STILL couldn't book a lineup that was free from scummy people (obviously to no fault of the fest themselves - they're clearly trying their very best). It just really shows how deep these issues are rooted in the music scene. It's sickening.

Looking at Bled Fest's twitter, they replied to things they weren't even directly mentioned in, so they look to be acting on the situation and not just reacting. PWR BTTM will be off the line up by the end of the day, no doubt.

 

read the pwr bttm thread. i've already emailed polyvinyl asking for a refund of their record or a donation to a sexual assault charity and have already talked about the harm that they have done, and am in the process of removing their material from my itunes.
fuck you for using this horrible incident as an opportunity to call someone out. you are despicable.

@Jason Tate I know you're too smart of a human to get lost in the cesspool that often is this subforum but can we get some more moderation that way the trash stops posting so often?

Been following this thread for awhile. Came here after I read about PWR BTTM. Really bummed, this thread is kind of the reason I got into them tbh lol.

 

Someone along the lines of Hotelier, Told Slant, or Allison Weiss would be cool. Such a crappy situation for the fest to deal with, and I really feel for the victims. These fucking band members need to stop this bullshit and be respectable human beings.

 

If The Hotelier could make it from Boston Calling to Bled Fest in 24 hours, that would be a great replacement. PUP could do the same thing?

 

Ahhh shoot. That and Slam Dunk really hurt potential substituations.

 

My guess is that PWR BTTM gets removed and La Dispute, Bear vs Shark and Fall of Troy get longer set times.

 

Maybe they don't find a replacement and they just give a couple of the main acts a little more time? It's very short notice and I would hope that people would be understanding of the situation.

 

Add Flatliners to that list and I'll be pleased if there isn't a replacement

 

Yeah I doubt there's time to get a headliner level replacement. More than likely some sets will get more time

 

I know it's not feasible and borders on overly idealist, but I think it would be a great gesture to put the panel on making a show a safe space without losing it's edge in PWR BTTM's place on a real stage.

 

Such a bummer... damn.

 

Anybody ever heard of Remo Drive? They're a possibility I feel like... The Hotelier or PUP would be amazing though

PUP & Hotelier are playing Boston Calling the next day though. So that won't work

 

Damn, thats true. Guess I was being too optimistic when I glanced lol. I hope the two acts that were on the tour still are able to come come to Bled Fest too.

 

also they wouldn't and shouldn't replace pwr bttm with a band of all dudes too
