I see it was another long Saturday night.

Appears to still be in the studio, not expecting this soon.

 

I don't think that's an indication either way, he's always on the studio working on something or other

 

Yeah and there's nothing to say the pictures in the studio are current. He often posts pictures that were taken in the past on Instagram. I feel like the record is definitely finished, but just delayed due to the pandemic. He said he was definitely putting out the record in 2020. He was "almost done" with it in July of last year, and again in December when he played the three shows in December. I think it's still almost here. Ya know, soon.

 

I don't think the timelines artists have given are to be taken at face value given all that is going on and has happened. For example, Julien Baker said that her new album would be out this year in an interview but later on said it's coming out next year, almost certainly because of the pandemic and that messing things up. I think the pandemic threw a wrench in a lot of peoples release plans. Many have been able to make it work, but some (like Jack probably) want to be able to tour the album shortly after release or do some sort of promotion for it that is impossible to do during the pandemic.

 

The only reason I'm getting just the teensiest bit antsy the deeper we get into 2020 is that Jack did explicitly say once or twice that he wouldn't be delaying the album's release because of the pandemic. I know for sure he did when he posted his REM cover a few month's back.

Doesn't mean it's not being delayed for other reasons. And really I'll be happy just so long as it comes at some point in the future, I won't hold it against him if it's not in 2020. But boy oh boy would new Bleachers music hit the spot right about now.

 

If it's getting delayed out of 2020 he should stop the damn Saturday night teasing lol

 

It's all teasing him hosting Saturday Night Live in the next few weeks lol

Waiting for news on this album and the new album from Fireworks is torture.

 

I totally forgot about the band Fireworks, I remember them being pretty ok-ish, maybe I should revisit

 

Their first EP and album never really got me, but Gospel got me hooked and Oh Common Life fucked me up.

 

OK fine, I'll give them another shot!

I’ve been antsy to hear this like everyone else, but I’m all for him taking his time to get it right.

 

I am too! Just, while he gets it right, he needs to stop tweeting lol

 

I have no issues with artists tweeting that they have new music coming soon as long as it’s actually coming soon. I hate when artists say new music soon and then weeks or months go by and there’s no new music. It makes me get my hopes up for no reason.
