Can confirm the new songs mostly pop off live more than the album, especially How Dare You Want More. Show was really fun, my first club show back since last March and it was great to start it with Jack. Ran into @AWasteOfATime and @DickyCullz briefly so that was a nice little bonus
It’s doors 6 show 7 right? Aragon has posts saying doors at 6 show at 7 and doors at 7 and show at 8 so I want to be sure since I want to get there in time for Claud tonight.
Your best bet honestly might be tweeting at Claud. Aragon is notoriously bad at posting accurate start times.
oh wowwwww this is exciting, and the double good news of there's going to be a boston big thief show after all
Need to go to both nights. No idea if it will sell out quickly. Hopefully the link to buy both nights works correctly by then, just clicked on it on their site just to see ticket prices and it just takes me to the AXS option to buy either. Unless I just don’t understand how to use AXS.
It was showing me $45/night earlier (I have to assume pre-fees). It sounds like the venue is supposed to be pretty big.
The show was great last night. Jack is such a good performer and @irthesteve is right thta the new songs sound better live. I only caught a tiny bit of Claud but they sounded great too!
from what I remember: 91: cool opener but didn't blow me away How Dare You Want More: fucking amazing live Big Life: Shocked me at how much better this was live than the album, appreciated the song for the first time Chinatown: About on par with the album version Don't Go Dark & 45: Honestly, this section of the show was a bit... too low key, kinda killed the mood for a (admittedly short) period of time. Both were OK enough, but definitely the low part of the show for me Stop Making This Hurt: GREAT live, amazing
Stop Making This Hurt is indeed an absolute triumph live. I don’t understand how Don’t Go Dark isn’t - that’s like by far the song that feels like it’s just a hair away from sounding absolutely huge and yet live it was almost identical to the record.
"Stop Making This Hurt" is so much better than almost every other song on the album in every format. I think I said this before, but I was surprised at how close everything was to the album live. I was really hoping they'd open things up more, but it was almost all still so constrained. Maybe things will sound a little bigger indoors?
@bobsheiskawy personally I think "How Dare You Want More" is the best song on the album, but Stop Making This is easily #2 and anything after that is far below
