I just listened to the new song for the first time. I have a lot going on in my life at the moment. I'm slightly stoned. But wow. I mean, holy shit wow. This elevetaed and wrecked me. It took my breath away. I could feel it in my chest. It made me tear up -- from the emotion dripping out of it to just how insanely good it is and the talent on display. This is that rare feeling where music hits you so hard it *really* reminds you of why and how hard you fell in love with it in the first place. I'm on listen 5 now. I fucking love this band.
I liked his first album, but it's been years since I listened to it. Fell off for me since 2014. Interested in this one though
Um.. this is literally a small tour around some festival shows before the record even comes out. There will be plenty of dates after it's released. That was also a co-headliner, so it's not like the venues would be the same size anyway.
In some markets.. but either way, most of these are just small headliners placed around festival dates. They probably won't do big venues until they're actually touring on the record
i feel similarly. i think it's the raw emotion and honesty. there's just something about the way his voice hits in this. it's like a freight train of everything he's got. it's feels somehow meticulously crafted but also effortless and transcendent. and yea the big production takes it to the next level. been a fan for a while but especially excited for this one.
This post might be scattered and random, so my apologies in advance. It was so fitting that the new single came out Friday. Like a River Runs is a song that helped me deal with my father's passing. I remember driving to work one day and really listening to the lyrics; I almost had to pull over I was crying so hard (embarrassing). That summer I was seeing Billy Joel at Fenway Park, one of the few artists my dad and I ever agreed on. We were supposed to go to the show together. Pregaming with friends, they mentioned there was an opener, which I had no idea. They said it was "the guitarist from that band fun." I made us leave the bar early so we could see them. As we were walking in, bleachers were playing Like a River Runs. I had goosebumps. Friday was the three-year anniversary of his passing. I was driving home from a concert at 2:30am, and just played the single my entire ride home. I was teary-eyed for most of it. Sorry, maybe this post is nonsensical.
So far: Dream Of Mickey Mantle Good Morning I'm Ready To Move On I Miss Those Days Nothing Is You Foreign Girls Hate That You Know Me Goodbye Let's Get Married
Me too, I wonder if that's the order of the track listing. And if it is, I wonder where Don't Take The Money fits in there.
Not that you were necessarily aiming to put it in track order, but I think that it's gonna be a flipped order, swap the first 3 with the last 3, then 3 more (including DTTM) added to the front end. Hope we get preorder info today!
