There is a pretty high voice on the background vocals there, not sure if it's a track or one of the guys just has a good range. Evan sang background on the acoustic version of this tune Jack did on Sunday and is clearly singing here, as is at least one of the drummers.
All I know is Evan (the keyboardist on the right) because he was at the event on Sunday as well. He also plays sax. And having not seen Bleachers full band live, I barely recognized him in this at first because on Sunday, he had glasses and a baseball cap on. I know Jon from Steel Train was around for one of the earlier tours but that doesn't look like him on either drum kit.
Mikey Hart on guitar/keys Evan Smith on keys/sax Sean Hutchinson on drums and a new guy named Mike on drums (not sure of last name) It's the same since he started playing live with Bleachers, except Jon from Steel Train was the other drummer instead of Mike
this is getting better with each listen. blasted it while driving through sunny montreal today and that was a treat. the songs that weren't doing much for me on the first few listens are really really starting to stand out (nothing is u, foreign girls).
Yea I'm head over heels with this album. And it has me listening to Trampoline a lot too. That album is absolutely fantastic. I haven't listened to that in years but hot damn
This is cool. It wouldn't shock me. I've always thought the Strange Desires cover was a callback to Billy Joel's The Stranger (especially the "strange" part in both names).
I remember meeting fun. about 5 years back or so, and when I met Jack I was like "man he looks familiar" I was very upset to find out that I had met the singer of Steel Train and not even put 2+2 together at the time. Now Bleachers is far and away my favorite thing Jack has done!
This is my favorite album Jack has made--just really fires on all cylinders for me in ways that the fun. albums and Steel Train never did
I find it interesting how music connects your past with your present. I remember 10 years ago reading an AltPress review for Trampoline, and thinking about how I'd seen this Steel Train band compared to The Format before and they'd toured together, and if I like The Format I'd better check them out. And now that's this guy.
