I'm listening through for the first time, in the same spot I listened to Strange Desire, only a lot later, and this is pretty clearly going to be an album I love for a long long time, considering the songs I heard before and the first 2 that I just heard. I don't have enough words to praise Jack.
Anyone else get some slight LCD Soundsystem vibes on All My Heroes? Or is it just because of the title of the song that I got that?
repeated listens and it's really hitting me hard. so many quotable lines in here. in love with this record.
First impressions is that it's very good. It feels like it's "deeper" than Strange Desire if that makes sense. Definitely will need multiple listens.
"So come on motherfucker, you survived, you gotta give yourself a break" randomly pops up in my head about 25 times a day. This album is great.
"Goodmorning" is so good. the horns on this are very Aim & Ignite and I love it. I think "Don't Take The Money" is at least close to "Bullet" levels of perpetual greatness. not getting tired of that one.
Highlights for me were I Miss Those Days, Nothing is U, Goodmorning, Foreign Girls, and All My Heroes
I agree. Let's Get Married and Don't Take the Money are the only two that weren't memorable after the first listen.
"Let's Get Married" is a jam! Damn, you guys had me bracing for something obnoxious. I didn't think so at all. Catchy as hell
Loving this album so much. "Don't Take The Money", "I Miss Those Days" and "All My Heroes" are early faves. re: "I Miss Those Days" - the intro music (that repeats throughout the song) reminds me intensely of a classic pop song that I can't quite put my finger on.. maybe like Abba, or the Bee Gees, or something. Anyone else hear what I mean?
first impression, this is just fine. I get why everyone else is head over heels for it but I've never really been enamored with Bleachers as a whole. I really wish I was considering this should be completely in my sweet spot, but for whatever reason it just doesn't fully connect. Glad everyone else is vibing tho!
