This is incredible, and I will probably never read another COS review. Like, how could you be that wrong about something?

 

It's interesting how restrained the instrumentation on Mickey Mantle is. It could have been a banger...but I suppose it's a "dream" after all.

 

"Mickey Mantle Reprise" reminds me of "Afternoon Delight."

Okay no, you don't understand, I'm re-watching Arrested Development right now and my thought every time Buster is on screen is that he kind of looks like Jack, haha.

 

Exactly why I made it haha. I'm doing a re-watch as well.

 

He reminds me more of Rick Moranis.

 

I always refer to Jack as actor turned musician Rick Moranis.

Well, most of the time.

 

"Foreign Girls" as the closer is very reminiscent of "Stars" as the closer of Some Nights imo

 

opener is pretty wild

 

I guess Jack calling out two other song titles in the opening stanza of the album should have tipped me off, but damn this thing is dense with references to other songs on the album (and some from Strange Desire)

 

Alright let's get married is starting to grate on me in my fifth listen

Every song on this thing is a hit waiting to happen. Goddamn. Nobody can write a pop song like Jack. This thing is insanely good.

First half is fantastic!

 

Wow this album is nuts, really going to enjoy digging into this more. All the various background music, discussions, talking is a bit jarring, but kinda cool in the overall context. Everything on here is top tier though, I'm going to be listening to this all the time

 

I was worried the sampled talking would take me out, but I think it was handled well.

First thoughts, probably the second album this year I really adore (first one was DAMN).

Can't wait to go back. A+ record

 

This is definitely the only other album besides DAMN that has immediately wow-ed me. Plenty of others have grown to wow me, but DAMN and this are both immediate
