He’s found his lane and this sounds like more of the same. Still gonna check them out any time they come around on tour but besides a couple single nothing has connected for me since Gone Now.
I really like this one! I think he keeps getting better at this sound so I'm not mad he's sticking with it.
Agree with this fully. My main thought when listening was "Can we please all pitch in and help this man come up with a new vocal melody?"
I found this song pretty forgettable unfortunately. I much prefer the poppy, bombastic E-Street-lite version of Bleachers over this lo-fi 1975 sort of stuff. Couldn't get into the last album either.
retract my original thought...just revisited this on my ear buds instead of my phone speakers and there's actually a lot going on in the background that's pretty cool.
I feel like I’ve heard this song from Bleachers 5 times already. Self-titled did nothing for me. Would he ever consider adding another vocalist? first few albums were some of my favorites, first dance at my wedding was a bleachers songs, love a lot of his writing with tswift….but I’m just so bored with the last few releases, sigh
I like the song well enough. but this came on shuffle the other day and just made me wish everything since Gone Now had more energy.
I've been listing to Bleachers live at Madison Square Garden today while doing laundry and a song came on and I was like...... I don't recognize this one, but wow it's fucking GOOD. Took a look at it was "Don't Go Dark" and my jaw dropped. I can not fathom why he made the choices he did for the album version, but I implore everyone to give a listen if you haven't heard this live version, what a fuckin tunnnneeeeeee
Also, clearly it's a tiny thing, but I get really annoyed when streaming releases miss something as simple as a title. The album key art says "From The Studio To The Stage" but on Spotify it's "From The Studio To Stage." Clearly not a big deal, but it shows a lack of being detail oriented somewhere along the way
This has me listening to this live album now, which I don't think I've listened to yet. Really making me want to see them again
This has serious Tom DeLonge comparing WDNTW to the Second Coming energy lol. Delusions of grandeur type stuff. Regardless, pumped for the tour despite skepticism on connecting deeply with the album. Haven’t missed a show when they come through and I am in town, always a good time and love the full band energy.
