    Get in my backseat, honeypie
And I'll wear your sadness like it's mine
Because it's just good to have what's been missing
Yeah, it's bad when it's good to always be missing

    But a girl like you
Could rip me out of my head
    Black tears on your cheek
I want them in my bed
I'll take you out of the city
    Honey, right into the shadow
    Cause I wanna find tomorrow
    Yeah, I wanna find tomorrow
    With a girl like you
    You're my Chinatown baby
    Sittin' on the front stoop
    Crying out the crazy
I'll take you out of the city
    Honey, right into the shadow
    Cause, I wanna find tomorrow
    Yeah, I wanna find tomorrow
    With you, babe

Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme that big red light
And take the sadness out of Saturday night
    Because it's just good
    To have what was missing
We were bound to be bad
    So always remember that

    But a girl like you
Could rip me out of my head
    Black tears on your cheek
I want them in my bed
I'll take you out of the city
    Honey, right into the shadow
    Cause I wanna find tomorrow
    Yeah, I wanna find tomorrow
    With a girl like you
    You're my Chinatown baby
    Sittin' on your front stoop
    Crying out the crazy
I'll take you out of the city
    Honey, right into the shadow
    Cause I wanna find tomorrow
Yeah, I wanna find tomorrow with you, baby
    I wanna run
    I wanna run
I love to chase every feeling
    I wanna run
    I wanna run
I wanna find tomorrow with you, baby
    Oh yeah yeah yeah

Holy shit, Chinatown is sweet. I like 45 a lot too. Not at all the first single I was expecting from Bleachers. I'm so happy it came out today and not Friday.

The 2:50 mark of Chinatown is just... I love you Jack.

  6. A few more listens and I'm fully in love with "Chinatown."
Not sure why I didn't make this connection immediately, but I definitely hear that.

Typical Jack to pester us every weekend about taking the sadness out of Saturday night, and then release the song on a Monday. Lol.

    songs are solid! So happy.

Kids on the Twitter learning that a 45 is a vinyl record, and not a reference to our soon-to-be-former president.

Totally makes sense it being November 16th but "2021" was just a teeny bit of cold water on my excitement here:teethsmile:

Though it's a bummer, I can't blame him at all, this year is a fucking black hole for most musical releases. Unless you're a MAJOR star, so many albums have come and gone so quickly

I'd agree for the releases released early 2020, but albums released in the last few months seem to be doing pretty well. Let's have a moment of silence for a few forgottens that should be on aoty lists:
    Gordi
    Bonny Light Horseman
    El Obo

Lol today I started making my list of releases I enjoyed this year that I'll eventually whittle down to 10. The current list only has 15 hahaha

One of them is from the intro from Lifetimes "Turnpikes Gates". I assume its due to them being from Jersey.

Yup. The one that sticks out to me is HAIM - feel like the initial rollout was prepping for a major career takeoff and COVID derailed that pretty hard. Not like it flopped or anything, but seems like it was a swing for the fences that may have connected had 2020 been a normal year.

Yeah it was really evident that they had a TON of things planned and basically all of it got overshadowed by everything else. No deli tour, no regular tour, even the music videos had to be scaled down. They did a great job of pivoting and trying new things, still had a ton of PR, late night shows... but in the end the album did kinda flop, though I hate that word. Core fans of the band and core music sites got behind it, but commercial performance went nowhere and there was no sort of breakout song or anything. It's their worst charting album, worst first week sales/streaming numbers, just a bummer overall.
