only episode I listened to him on was the indiana jones one and I remember him being slightly annoying
after the amazing Spiderman episode with Matt Singer who wouldn't be thrilled to hear 2 and half hours of Gethard blabbering about Star Wars and how much better he thinks Tom Holland is than Tobey Maguire and inane beefs with reddit communitites
”I know the fans think you don’t like me guest appearing on episodes but this is the first time I’ve felt like you don’t” and “David, I’m trying to help you” “Yes griffin but sometimes when you’re ‘trying to help me’ I am literally in the middle of speaking and you’re just like ‘can I add this thing’” lmao
Gethard is really just griffin’s energy unchecked “I wanna hear what you’re saying but I’m going to interrupt you constantly even when you’re like please stop interrupting me but then I’m gonna whine like a baby when you are like it isn’t worth it” lol
I enjoyed the ep. Gethard kept himself in check and mostly stayed on track, minus the short diversion into his complaints about Luke in “The Last Jedi.”
What in the hell are they talking about this could have been PG? He killed 20 people in the first 5 minutes.
By Gethard standards. There was like 75% less antagonism from him and almost no weird arguments or rants about “The Last Jedi” and “Spider-Man.”
feels like there was a lot of TLJ back and forth and they yelled at each other so much the first half hour that gethard apologized about it several times throughout the rest of the episode but whatever doesn't matter really
I was listening to it at work, so I might have zoned out or missed that part. I trust your word since I won’t be revisiting a 3+ hour episode.
It was so cathartic when he finally told them to stop interrupting him. It was driving me absolutely crazy.
Great episode for a great movie. Watching Master & Commander and reading The Terror sparked a small interest in 19th century sailing stories for me.
I don’t love the movie as much as David but still a great watch and they did a great job of articulating why this epitomizes the “dad movie” genre. The older I get the exponentially more interested I am in what day to day life on a warship would be like.
