The Walk is my least favorite Zemeckis BY FAR (although I haven’t seen The Witches yet). Thought it was fine in theaters but hated it when I rewatched it a few weeks ago. I just find JGL’s performance exhausting and none of the other characters get anything to do at all. I was somehow won over on my rewatch of Welcome to Marwen tho.
haven’t seen the walk since it was in theaters but i remember thinking it was so average it hurts. and then the only great thing happens that said, i’m looking forward to what more people think about allied. i’m still surprised that i liked it quite a bit
The Walk is a fine movie overall, but I have a real bad fear of heights and also stepping on a nail that is sticking straight up... so this movie was real hard to watch
This podcast has been such a joy. Found it back in July or August and I feel like I’ve been watching 4-5 movies a week just trying to keep up and catch up. It’s been such a fun quarantine ride
I loved all the talk of Carell’s career because it’s been a weird, interesting path. Pretty crazy trajectory when “The Daily Show” barely gets a mention.
Hated Marwen when I saw it in theaters but I had basically the same reaction as Ben when I watched it at home
Just started it a few minutes ago, and yeah Octavia is great and her monologues about witches feel sincere despite the rest of this movie being so cartoony
Woot. I was hoping for Resident Evil but that would probably be way more fun in person. Hopefully they can do it for Halloween!
Didn't know there was a thread on here...just popping in. We're slightly behind because we're waiting on the Marwencol DVD from the library to be available before we watch the last two Zemeckis. Definitely relieved for the next mini to all be on one streaming service.
It didn't dawn on me until that most of the golden age Disney animated films were directed by the same people. That should be fun.
