I appreciated the Coolio discussion and how that extended Griffin’s belief in Santa. Also, I think Coolio might have had some early credibility with his first album, but it’s kind of like DMX in the sense that after a couple of albums, you see he’s a pretty limited lyricist and kind of corny.
these are usually my least favorite episodes. i like heidi gardner a lot and clueless rules but when they have a somewhat famous person who isn’t like a friend of the pod on it feels like them interviewing the person and also happen to discuss the movie vs. like a proper episode
I’m halfway in and completely disagree. There was like a 15 minute stretch where Heidi didn’t say a word.
They are connoisseurs of context and it was all part of her story of seeing Clueless for the first time in the summer of 1995. After that it became normal shenanigans for the show. Heidi was a good guest
again not holding it against heidi at all. and it isn’t really unique to the two friends. doughboys do it when they have a wrestler or a famous person on too. i get it. they just tend to be episodes im less invested in listening to bc the vibe is different
They ask about her childhood as it related to clueless and then becomes a pretty standard episode after that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
sure. they don’t do that on other episodes with guests they’re more comfortable/familiar with. it is unnecessary
I saw “Loser” in high school and remember absolutely nothing about it. Sounds absolutely dreadful. “Teenage Dirtbag” still bangs though.
I always enjoy when they go deep on American Pie. I've never seen any of the movies, but I've played a bunch of shows in Thomas Ian Nicholas's band, and enthusiasm people still have for that series is wild.
I liked them talking about “28 Years Later,” but oh my god do they all need to learn how to let one person talk when they don’t have a guest they’re trying to be polite to.
