127 Hours is one of my favorite episodes in such a long time. Sean Clements is hilarious! Funniest episode I can remember.
Full disclosure - I have never seen Billy Lynn's Halftime Walk (no point, I can't watch it in it's intended HFR) However, JD Amato goes into a deep dive on the technology of the cameras used to film that movie, and pulls off the most incredible comedic bit in the show's history. I will not spoil it here, because when it happens, it feels like a magic trick pulled on both us the listeners and the hosts
Is there a version of Trio out there with subtitles that are remotely comprehensible? I got 10 minutes into the one on Youtube and it was like reading a mad lib.
I believe there is a newly surfaced HD version out there. I remember seeing it linked on the blankie Reddit.
Yeah, I went to look there but it's closed for the Reddit protest. Good to know there's a better version out there though.
I love keeping up with the pod but seeing that I can’t track down almost all the movies this series is a big bummer.
The first two are on Internet Archive and YouTube (granted with pretty bad subtitles), Oldboy is currently unavailable since it’s getting re-released in August, and Cyborg is nowhere in sight. But the rest are fairly available. JSA is on Tubi right now, Mr. Vengeance, Lady Vengeance, and Decision to Leave are on MUBI, Handmaiden is an Amazon Original, and the rest are rentable in all the usual locations
Hadn’t heard of the guest on this week’s episode but she’s great! Makes up for the fact that there was absolutely no way to watch this movie
Should be a fun one. It’ll be nice to not have any “homework” (for the main feed at least) for a few months.
Yeah. I'm a couple movies behind on Park, but this mini has been a great excuse for me to dive deeper into this filmography. Fincher will be nice and easy since I think I only have 2 blindspots total
