I'm convinced everyone talking at once is something they strive for the same way as the guest talking before being introduced. Gets frustrating especially when they're on a tangent and it's hard to follow
the facebook group has been hating on Gethard all week and I just have to say I love his presence on the show even if he has terrible Star Wars takes.
Either David is introducing his daughter to all the Pixar movies or they are thinking about doing all of them on Patreon
The Tom Hardy Venom impressions were great. Always enjoy J Bouie. But I also think the “Spider Man 3 is as good/better than any MCU movie” is a tired/wrong take.
1. Yes was laughing so hard at the Hardy stuff. 2. Jamelle is a top tier guest on this show. 3. Yes absolutely. Best I can say is I appreciated the things that ARE good in it way more now than I used to. But overall it’s still not good.
Yea i'm still in the "SM3 doesn't work for me as a movie but i kinda get what it was going for" tank. I've certainly softened on it since I saw it opening weekend in 2007 when everyone I knew was fully outraged by it
Making Sandman into Uncle Ben’s actual killer is something that I can’t abide under any circumstances so that automatically makes it bad imo. It’s a fundamental flaw.
i still don't like the film but i'm glad more and more people have concluded that it's not exactly the worst thing ever
It's kind of a preview of worse things to come from Sony/Marvel. Amazing Spider-Man 2 is like all of Spider-Man 3's issues x10
I’m glad we can freely say that in this thread. Terrible movie. SM2 has some great moments, but it’s clear Sony is pulling the strings most of the time.
It’s definitely better than The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Thor 2, Iron Man 2, and Black Widow. I could see an argument that it’s better than Age of Ultron and Captain Marvel.
Not enough praise was given to Lohman’s performance in “Matchstick Men.” Was integral in selling the twist of the movie and she was awesome. “Drag Me To Hell” is a wild ride. That’s one of those movies where it’s shocking a big studio paid for it. Well, I guess Raimi helped pay for it. But still.
I know a lot of Blankies get excited when the show covers lesser-known/under talked about filmmakers, but when some of a filmmaker's movies are hard to find (which apparently All That Jazz is) I'm less likely to watch the films. Most of the Campion movies I just read the synopsis and then listened to the episode
Sweet Charity and All That Jazz are the two that are harder to find. Sweet Charity is on YouTube in pretty decent quality for now, but that could get taken down any minute. All That Jazz is only available on disc, but the Criterion edition is currently half off on Amazon if anyone is interested
