I don't have any pre-existing interest in either of those things, but I'll surely still listen to whatever wins!
I've seen all of the Apes movies, never seen any of the Moore Bonds somehow, so I'm hoping for Moore just because I want an excuse to watch them all and also because I think it'll be a really fun series
I'm voting Kubrick. Yeah it's film bro-core but whatever it's some of the undeniably greatest movies ever made. (Welles would RULE too but i think i'd like more Kubrick discussion)
Also they're definitely going to do them both at some point so it's really just a question of who we want done right now. I'm down for Kubrick.
Stoked Who won the Patreon though? The poll shows 50-50 but we can't see the exact numbers. The totals were super close.
Yea way too close to call. Anyway, Kubrick which also felt like an inevitability as one of the truly great blank check auteurs in the entire history of cinema finally happening is exciting. Plus: moon landing talk
They're definitely going to just do Apes right after, unless they have something else planned that will line up with a main feed series or something
I was Team Apes, but I can’t be too upset by such a close showing. Never seen a Moore bond so it’ll be good to cross some of those off
The only Bond movie I've seen is Dr. No At one point I decided to start from the beginning but my commitment level was very low
Ooh Moore Bond sounds like a blast, might have to finally join the Patreon. On there it's just watch-alongs, not regular episodes, right?
It’s mostly commentaries yes (the Moore series will be) but they also will do some bonus episodes surrounding whatever director they’re covering, like covering Top of the Lake for the Campion series, as well as other random episodes throughout the year, like the two they have done on movie studio fanfare.
The 1st and 21st of each month they release watch along commentaries. On the 11th of each month they release bonus episodes which range from regular episodes covering films from their main feed director that don’t fully fit (Frankenweenie/Corpse Bride for Burton, Hanging Up for Ephron) or just fun stuff like Oops All Box Office Game or Talking Fanfare
I know next to nothing about Broadway but still very surprised to learn there was a Peanuts musical and it was apparently a hit But more surprised I'm learning this from an Evil Dead II podcast
