Fully agree. I’ve avoided Afterlife cuz I know it’s gonna mean absolutely nothing to me since it’s supposedly a two hour love letter to a movie that I think is, like, decent, I guess?
I do enjoy Ghostbusters, but have no strong feelings about any of the sequels. None of them outright suck, but none of them are good either. Just three shrugs of a movie
And I don’t know if they’ve already announced this but they’re going straight into Matrix commentary after Ghostbusters!
David saying “let’s not such each other’s dicks” really the best part of a weekend that had already been amazing.
I've been waiting for this episode ever since that glorious announcement in 2019. BC is the only place I want to hear opinions on this movie
I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts about this movie over the last week, and reading reviews too. David is the only critic who seems to have understood that “Binary” is the name of the new game that Neo is making, NOT the name of his company (which is called Deus Machina). Literally every other review I’ve encountered has said he “works for a company called Binary.”
people are not smart. loved how Griffin made the connection that 01 is the Machine City, IO is the new human city, and Binary was the company he worked for.
i hadn’t seen the Animatrix in a while so I forgot the first machine city was called 01. That was a great Easter egg from Lana right there.
