The episode itself is very good tho and this mini is off to a great start. Honestly, I would have never known to check out Elaine May before this podcast, and the 2 movies I’ve now seen of hers (A New Leaf and Heartbreak Kid) are absolutely fantastic.

The positive way to look at this is that May is now getting more exposure and even potential buyers of that book. I’d love to read it myself as she does seem like a total badass. But yea this whole “controversy” over fact checking what is essentially a comedy podcast about movies is pretty annoying

Mikey and Nicky is unbelievable I can’t wait to watch it again

 

I’m generally someone who likes to watch the movie the week of the Pod so it’s fresh in my mind. I cheated a little bit because I’m worried The Heartbreak Kid is gonna disappear of Facebook so I’ve seen the first 2 movies already and they’re both fantastic. I’m genuinely kinda bummed I have to wait a week to watch Mikey and Nicky, and I’m very intrigued by Ishtar

 

The Heartbreak Kid absolutely rules. Genuinely hilarious.

 

I will say I sort of appreciated more than really liked a new leaf, but I’m very excited for the heartbreak kid!

 

I was stunned to learn that May disowned the cut of A New Leaf because usually when the studio meddles that much the movie isn’t as legitimately great as A New Leaf is

Any guesses on the next Patreon series? I think it’s interesting Potter wasn’t on the bracket AND I’ve been relistening to the Marvel commentaries and David keeps talking about how much he wants to do it.

That would be an interesting pairing because the main and bonus feed 2fast2furious episodes would probably line up pretty closely.

 

Pretty sure they were saying that the March Madness winner was starting right after Trek was done, so I’m pretty sure we’re rolling right into Twilight

Would make sense to do Fast and Furious though regardless just because they're getting ready to touch on it next

 

Fast after Twilight would make sense as the new one should theoretically be out for home viewing by the time they get to it

 

They’ll also have to slot Black Widow in there in July.
