The commanding lead Gore has taken makes me pretty scared/depressed that he’s gonna win. And this should have been fun!

 

Well like, Karen asks every friend she has with a big Twitter following to post it and then all their followers, who don’t even listen to the show, come and vote. It’s not bots but it’s not that different.

 

So glad voting won’t be on Twitter next year.

 

Ugh. That sucks (about the Karen hive - even though I like Karen’s writing!)

 

Yeah this things over, after seeing how quick today’s poll went from 50-50 to a blowout I have no faith that Carpenter can take it. Guess we’re getting almost 5 consecutive weeks of Depp

 

I hate the messaging too of "We'll lay off of your favorites next year if Gore wins!" Like I guess it's cool that you're taking a fun thing hostage so we have to put up with more than a month of an abuser's bad movies.

 

I think Carpenter can still pull it out. As great as WKW is, there's way more populist support for someone like Verbinski than there is for him. Carpenter has that same kind of populist support and then some.

Like I feel like this tactic won't work as well against Carpenter as it did against WKW. A lot of those people might see Gore is up against Carpenter and be like "wait, but Carpenter is way better".

 

Actually never mind, just looking at the vote totals this isn't even going to be close. Carpenter vs. Altman had 12,986 votes, Karen managed to drive up the total votes cast in WKW vs. Gore to 28,255 already.

 

Like it does with all things, this year Twitter ruined March Madness.

 

Wong would have been such a welcome mini. Huge blindspot for me

 

Is there a way to restrict polls to followers only? Like I know it's as easy as clicking the button (and I know that this is moot for next year anyway) but it's still an extra step that could have prevented some of this. There's currently more votes in the poll than the pod has followers.

 

The only solution is to do Verbinski then Carpenter then Wong then Altman (half joking half serious)

 

They have said many times that March Madness is a way to check the temperature of potential minis. Therefore, losers that had big support will probably just get their own series at some point

She needs the Twitter algorithm to work in her favor again tomorrow. Will the Twitter algorithm like people spamming polls 2 days in a row? I think it will be close tomorrow.

 

I have no doubt that in a four way Patreon poll between this final, Gore would be last by a large margin.

 

Never doubt the power of a YouTuber with a loyal following. It truly sucks. Like, the thumb is on the scale.

 

At this point they should call an audible and just let the patrons pick the champion tomorrow. The poll is up to over 30,000 votes now.

 

I mean when Brian David Gilbert mobilizes his 276k Twitter followers again tomorrow I don’t know how Carpenter will be able to compete with that.

 

We'd need like Chris Stuckmann to mobilize his audience or something.
