Me as I vote Altman over Malick:

 

Man Altman is steamrolling. He should be on the other side of the bracket.

 

I think this pretty much locks in Altman sometime by the end of next year.

 

I’m still on team Carpenter, but Altman is a huge blind spot for me and seeing how much support he’s getting this year I’m kinda getting won over. Regardless of whether he wins or loses I’ll be checking out some of his work

 

I just think Carpenter (and Dante) will be a more fun series, wouldn't be mad at all if Altman won though

 

Team Carpenter for sure. Been wanting them to do him for awhile, man it's a dream for me.

 

I've never listened to these guys, but they are on today's How Did This Get Made? and I may change that.

 

Their three hour episode with Paul and Jason is maybe my favorite podcast episode of all time. Perfect place to start.

I’d take Gore in a second over Cuaron.

 

Cuaron has no shot of beating Carpenter, I mostly just want Gore out of the game because I'm starting to worry he might actually be able to beat Carpenter. The GoreHive is more powerful than I could have possibly imagined.

I like a bunch of Cuaron's movies but yeah definitely fuck Gore

 

I just don’t see what’s appealing about Gore unless this is like justice for “Mouse Hunt” or “Rango.” The “Pirates” movies are so uninteresting. “The Ring” is a fine ‘00s remake and “The Lone Ranger” sucks.

 

Don't forget his other two masterpieces, A Cure For Wellness and The Weather Man

 

actually i think there’s been a bit of a resurgence for a cure for wellness. some people been coming around to find that it’s quite good (can’t say for myself, haven’t watched)

 

Voted for Cuaron but I completely disagree on the POTC movies being uninteresting. A deeply bizarre franchise.

 

Is it still a hot take to say 3 is the best of the Pirates? It’s a WILD flick.

 

haven't seen any pirates movie, but it sounds like it'd a real nuclear take to rate one or both of the non-verbinski movies highest

 

Man I just really, really want the Carpenter series. Gonna be real bummed if Verbinski manages to win the whole thing.
