I’m more than happy with either of these songs winning. Masterpiece will always be a top 5 favorite Bayside song for me, but Alcohol probably is as well. I’ll go with Alcohol and Alter Boys just because it’s a song I wish the band would put back into their live rotation.
Oops, I missed getting to vote for "Guardrail"/"Just Enough To Love You". Going with "Masterpiece" in the final. Is this the most obvious consensus winner from a Bayside album? The next closest I can think of is probably "Duality." I'm surprised "Alcohol And Altar Boys" made it so far. If you'd asked me which songs would be in the final, I'd have guessed at least six other songs first.
Alcohol and Alter Boys I've always been extremely turned off by this album due to some of the lyrics and themes but this thread forcing me to revisit it had added further appreciation for it. Still my least favorite Bayside album. I'm happy Anthony took over lyrics after this even if there's still some questionable stuff on the self-titled.
It depends on how everyone feels about “Devotion and Desire.” With it being the band’s most popular song I’d expect it to win next round, but we’ll see.
