That whole thing where they sent out the sheet music and had fans record their own versions before the song was released was a really fun promotional idea! Would be cool to see another band try that out with a more interpretive song

I can never decide where Cult falls in the Bayside album rankings. The production from Killing Time onwards blows the earlier stuff out of the water, which to me makes it a more enjoyable album top to bottom, but it's also fairly safe/generic Bayside.

Almost feels like a greatest hits album of new material, if that makes any sense.

Keep in mind all of these records at least a 7/10 for me personally and I no shame love almost everything this band does.

You’re spot on about the production, but I love the grittiness of production on the first three records, and I think it’s a big part of what makes those songs hit home for me. Killing Time sounds HUGE, but I wouldn’t want the earlier records to sound that way. Everything onward? Absolutely.

S/T will forever be my number one, but the more I think about it, TWW, Sirens, KT, and Shudder are all pretty interchangeable in the number two spot. Love them all.

 

I actually think Vacancy is my favorite album. I'm ready to fight for Mary when the time comes in this bracket
