Carry On vs. A Rite of Passage A Rite of Passage is a fine song, but Carry On is perfectly crafted, from the intro forward. Manages to mold slower/faster parts together with great intensity, and the bridge is just phenomenal. I And I vs. (Pop)Ular SciencE The first few times I heard this album, I would have pick I and I easily. PopUlar Science felt like a really strange tag on the album, out of place and off theme. For some reason, it has grown on me massively in the past year. And that change of pace actually ends up being extremely welcome, and a great way to end the album imo. That's no knock on I and I, although strangely the anthemic interlude is my least favorite part. I just think PopUlar Science does different the right way, unlike the next song we're talking about... Dear Your Holiness vs. Head on a Plate Gotta agree with others that Head on a Plate is kind of a weak song. Lyrics are kind of bizarre with some kind of a weird plea for popularity because they're "original?" I don't know, I like Bayside more than anyone, but that's just kind of silly. Plus, the song itself combines generic melodies with some really weird instrumentation that just screams "we wanted to make this song different somehow." Only could part of the song to me is the bridge. Both the music and lyrics in Holiness feel more heartfelt and authentic, start to finish. The Walking Wounded vs. Thankfully I knew Thankfully had no chance against the title track, but no love at all is surprising. Definitely up there for me. Maybe my favorite from the second half of the record. Nothing too special about it, just a great tune all the way through. Is it better than Walking Wounded? Maybe not, but in a close race I'll give it the edge.
Carry On - 11 A Rite of Passage - 6 I And I - 11 (Pop)Ular SciencE - 6 Dear Your Holiness - 13 Head on a Plate - 4 The Walking Wounded - 15 Thankfully - 2 That might be all the votes we get for this round, but I’ll leave it open until noon as promised.

THE WALKING WOUNDED ROUND 2 __________ Carry On vs. Choice Hops and Bottled Self Esteem I And I vs. They’re Not Horses, They’re Unicorns Dear Your Holiness vs. Duality The Walking Wounded vs. Landing Feet First
Carry On - 2 Choice Hops and Bottled Self Esteem - 2 I And I - 2 They’re Not Horses, They’re Unicorns - 2 Dear Your Holiness - 1 Duality - 3 The Walking Wounded - 3 Landing Feet First - 1 Very upset at the results of the last matchup so far :(
Oh no, I hate the last 3 matchups on here. All are some of my favorite Bayside songs: Carry On I and I Dear Your Holiness (love Duality, but Holliness may be my favorite song on the album) Landing Feet First (this may legit be the hardest matchup for me of the entire bracket)
Carry On vs. Choice Hops and Bottled Self Esteem I'm a weird Bayside fan and TWW is toward the bottom of my favorite Bayside albums list. I still love it, but not as much as I enjoy most of their other albums. My reasoning is there's a lot of songs in the middle of the album that don't stand out to me very much, like Choice Hops. I And I vs. They’re Not Horses, They’re Unicorns Both of these songs are outstanding. Horses is such a unique Bayside song. I have to choose I and I though because of the personal significance it has for me. Dear Your Holiness vs. Duality This is a tough one for me. I'll probably go with Holiness because I appreciate that the chorus features lines taken from Back to the Future. The Walking Wounded vs. Landing Feet First I think we can all agree that this is the toughest matchup this round. Because Landing has more personal meaning to me it gets my choice, but I won't be bummed if TWW wins.
I don’t really find ranking TWW toward the bottom of your list that strange, tbh. Bayside have such a strong discography, that I don’t even really have a favorite record of theirs. I love them all, and each one has a handful of excellent songs, imo. Gun to my head, I’d probably pick S/T or Killing Time, but they’re all neck and neck for me personally.
Carry On - 5 Choice Hops and Bottled Self Esteem - 2 I And I - 4 They’re Not Horses, They’re Unicorns - 3 Dear Your Holiness - 4 Duality - 3 The Walking Wounded - 3 Landing Feet First - 4
It was TWW that really put Bayside on the map in the scene, so I feel that as a result it's the album (that at least I see) most often cited as people's favorite. Sirens has always been my favorite, but that's just because it was the first Bayside album I ever heard and nothing can replace that for me.
Carry On vs. Choice Hops and Bottled Self Esteem Hops I And I vs. They’re Not Horses, They’re Unicorns Horses for sure--love this song Dear Your Holiness vs. Duality Duality The Walking Wounded vs. Landing Feet First Feet First
