Bladee - 333 (July 16, 2020) Album

Originally posted this in the avant/experimental pop thread but literally no one uses it and it seems like a significant enough release that a thread could attract some folks. Bladee's second record this year following Exeter, and the latest in a string of strong releases from Drain Gang and the Year0001 label, including ECCO2K's e and Thaiboy Digital's Legendary Member (two of last year's best imo).

I enjoyed Exeter but thought this was pretty incredible on first listen

 

Yeah this one is way better imo but I like them both. “Merry-Go-Round” on the other project is probably my favourite track of his though.

Project with Mechatok is up on streaming now. Excited to check it, "God" is one of his best tracks this year

 

What's a good project to start with? I only know of him because of his Yung Lean association, but I feel like I've seen his name a ton this year

 

I've only heard the projects from this year but either 333 or Exeter would be fine. Exeter is short so it's an "easier" way in but I think 333 has the better songs ("Merry-Go-Round" excepted). I'm a few tracks into the project that dropped today and that's got a much more dance/club oriented sound, if that might be more appealing.

If you dig any of it, I highly recommend the ECCO2K and Thaiboy Digital records from last year. They're both part of the same lebel/crew with Bladee and Yung Lean but those two projects are far better than anything I've heard from either Bladee or Yung Lean imo.

Gotta listen to their last 2 projects, loved Red Light in 2018

would rec siningamis- cyber network as well. Angels may cry was one of the fun tracks of the year imo
