so Feige deciding to get some free press after Mahershala's Oscar wins and then launching the can down the road is really paying off I see how do you get eternals out the door and not this
They were under different management that was clearly more concerned with getting things out the door than making it good? And I liked Eternals. But there's clearly a bigger incentive now to slow down and take their time than to rush it out. Both from a quality standpoint and also from a "remember when we found out VFX artists were being overworked?" standpoint.
To be clearer, I'm not saying this isn't cause for concern, but it doesn't have to be. I'd be much more annoyed if the opportunity got wasted trying to push a film that only a handful of people will end up liking.
Incredibly dumb to act like any one person is to blame for this movie still not existing. It’s a miracle that any movie gets made.
I just want to know what Marvel is possible wanting in this film that is running writers and directors away from this project
Cinematic universe shit would be my guess. It’s probably just going to end up being a total setup for Midnight Suns now instead of standing on its own.
It's probably a combination of forcing in stories that connect with the larger marvel plans (midnight suns or something), budget disagreements (they probably want this to be filmed for 100-150m) and disagreement on intensity of R rating (light R vs horror R)
So it's Ali and not Marvel, which is absolutely fine since he's the one who asked for this project anyway, so it should be to his satisfaction.
Blade now needs to drop that line. "Some motherfucker's always tryin' to ride a snowmobile in traffic."
I mean yeah it looks nuts, but when you consider a worldwide pandemic and a massive writer's strike it begins to make more sense
