It is. saw this for the first time earlier this year and I don't think I've connected with a movie so strongly so immediately since. Got the blu ray at Best Buy for 8 bucks. Need to get drunk and rewatch soon
Very excited for my re watch next month. Funny/sad/scary, but after this originally came out there was the Napa area fires in CA. I was driving around the Bay Area for work, and the same haze that people are associating with this movie in that video up above was all around me. Though it wasn’t as bad since then the whole state wasn’t on fire. Though I actually had the soundtrack on while I was driving around, and it was so bizarre. I didn’t plan it at all.
Dang, I already want to watch this again. I've been listening to the soundtrack a lot lately, especially when I'm out and about shopping, and it really gets the imagination going while I'm doing it all, hahaha. Surely this has to be ranked in the Top 20 or so sci-fi films of all time?
I'll be looking at the big rows of cereal boxes, trying to decide which one, while listening to Sapper's Tree
I am continually astounded at how regularly Hans Zimmer cranks out top rate soundtracks over and over again, year after year. I get the feeling his work for Dune will be legendary
What I’ve heard is that Benjamin Wallfisch did the lion’s share of the composing for this movie. Hans did some but mostly just lent Wallfisch his synths lol.
Hans was my gateway into film scores but over the years I’ve become less taken with him. When he’s doing more melodic work (Lion King, Pirates films) I actually think he really excels, but his scores all feel so samey now. They’re all in D minor, and they’re all largely composed by his team
Aren’t Hans scores not REALLY Hans scores anymore? Kinda like James Patterson books are the brand but they’re written by other people?
I really want to be excited for Uzumaki but even if the four episodes are an hour long, which I don’t think they are, still doesn’t seem like enough time.
