i donno. I feel like its an area the industry will likely need to evolve in. option 1: only release films in theaters -- this doesn't feel where the industry as a whole is headed. too much demand for people to be able to avoid theaters option 2: release for no additional charge -- not enough money here to justify that option option 3: release at a premium price, but you don't need to subscribe to the service to use it -- they'd probably just make stuff cost $40 instead of $30 if they did this option 4: release at a lower premium price -- sure this is better for the consumer, but I gotta imagine Disney has done their research on the proper balance point of how many new sales they'd get if they only charged $20 vs how much they'd lose.
If you go before noon you pay like $8-$10 for a ticket, and it's only like $13-$15 if you don't go early. $30 is absurd for anyone that isn't, like, married with a kid.
Yeah I'll never pay that price. It's way too high. I'll wait til June to see Raya & The Last Dragon and I'll be seeing Black Widow in the theater since I'll be fully vaccinated on April 14th.
lol $30 isn't that bad especially since you can watch it multiple times anytime my wife and I go to a theater it's 30-40 dollars every time and that's just to see the movie once.
$30 isn’t bad if you have friends or family to split it with. A family or friend group of 3 will save money.
will I pay $30 for black widow? probably not because I don't care for it and I wouldn't see it in theaters anyways but the movies that have/do interest me (like Raya) have been well worth the premium price
I don’t know anyone during Covid who is a loner and doesn’t see family or a small selection of friends.
i barely spend half of $30 going to a theater. it's maybe $30 if me and my wife both go and get concessions.
Oh my gosh, let’s maybe not have a dumbass online argument about the nuances of how people are getting through COVID?
We’ve also had the how much am I willing to pay to watch a movie from home argument in almost every movie thread from the last year. and yes I would pay $100 to watch bond right now.
Do I want to pay $30 for Black Widow? No. Will I pay $30 for Black Widow? Yes. I'll probably see it in theaters too and watch it when tickets are $5
$30 seems fair for a household. I can see how maybe it isn’t worth it to someone who would be viewing alone or lives alone. But around here for just my wife and I we would be spending way more than 30 for just the two of us.
