Wasn’t too excited to see this, but the intro completely sold me and the rest of the film was pretty damn solid. Wish we had gotten something like this earlier so her death would’ve been more impactful
The intro was great, but overall this was pretty disappointing. Obviously Pugh was great. Also did we all dunk on Phaynes yet for Taskmaster not being Rachel W?
In thinking about this, I think using Dreykov's daughter as Taskmaster would've made more sense thematically if they hadn't undercut her storyline by having Dreykov take away her agency. They painted Natasha using Dreykov's daughter to get to him as being her biggest regret or at least something that clearly haunted her. Having her have to face the consequences of her actions would've made for a good yarn. Instead, in their eagerness to make Dreykov into the biggest bastard in the room, they made it so that Taskmaster no longer had a reason to fight Natasha once Dreykov was out of the picture. It would've been better to let her be a villain of Natasha's own creation. As for using Weisz instead, I dunno. There's two ways you can go with that, have her be under Dreykov's control instead of his daughter, or leave her in control of her actions and have her truly double cross Natasha. If that's the choice, then I frankly prefer the former then, just cause I like the idea of this fake family ending up as a passable real family, and I don't want to fuck with that.
you could tell me winstone's entire character was added during reshoots over the delay and i'd believe you in a second
