A leaker (mytimetoshine) posted details this morning.

    - The film is an ensemble piece with Shuri as lead
    - Riri is the linchpin
    - Shuri will wear her own Black Panther outfit, but she is not the next Black Panther

Also, I watched Black Panther again last night and it reassured me with Wakanda Forever. Even if the film is a mess, BP is still rewatchable and I can always go back to it.

I think we might just have to accept that Shuri will be the next Black Panther and hope Wright keeps her views private.

Nah keep the criticism and dunks coming and hopefully either she or Disney gets fed up enough that one of them decides to end the relationship. Her views are harmful and of the kind that will get people killed or seriously injured. She's a danger to everyone who works on set with her. It's reckless and irresponsible for Disney to keep her on despite her ridiculous, idiotic beliefs.

The fact that they didn’t retool this movie to take place during the snap to give them more time to sort out the T’Challa situation boggles my mind to this day.

  15. It still boggles my mind that they kept the 5 year gap. That caused so many issues downstream for story telling and it’s not like they’ve really done a great job incorporating that into newer projects. The fact that NYC is just normal old Christmas NYC in Hawkeye is so weird to me.

Yeah it's odd how everyone is just living normally again after an event like the snap

Yeah people would never just resume going about their lives as if nothing happened/was happening following a global catastrophe lol

as evidenced by the real world pandemic, there's a lot of collective trauma. can't imagine half the world disappearing and what kind of trauma that would cause.

But also as evidenced by the pandemic, once the situation is deemed "resolved" by enough people, they all just go back to normal like nothing ever happened.

Just use the whole "why is Christmas in NY going on like nothing ever happened" example from above. Did anyone see the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade this year? You'd never know a global pandemic was still ongoing.

The MCU post-return of everyone who was dusted is very much in keeping with what we've seen this year re: Covid being "over".

Yea, people reverting to normal life as soon as they can does fit.

And of course there's going to be individual trauma too, like for people whose SO's were dusted who then moved on and met someone else, only for their original SO to suddenly return. Or families whose children were dusted and then split apart because of it. We don't see things like that but that doesn't mean it isn't happening. Just like how Covid has caused devastating trauma in real life. But if we're talking about society as a whole, yeah seeing everyone on a macro level just move on is not unrealistic at all.

To be clear, I'm not happy about her stance and the fact that she's being primed to be the face of this franchise. But, I also am willing to be okay with someone keeping personal beliefs to themselves and out of the media spotlight. To me, it's only harmful if she uses this as an opportunity and a platform. If she doesn't, then whatever. According to that article, apparently the rumors about her spreading her views are false, so if she's keeping things to herself, then (big shrug).

Even if she keeps her views to herself, as an unvaccinated person she's still a danger to everyone else on set with her. That alone is reason to kick her off the movie, regardless of whether she spreads her views or not.

I can't argue with this, nor do I want to. I am kind of curious what the feelings are of everyone working on the movie.
