Also just throwing out that a Doctor Strange/Niko Minoru crossover in the MCU would be very cool.

Couldn't agree more. Chadwick passed away less than three months ago, and they've already set the filming date...? Idk, beyond even the fact that it feels borderline disrespectful imo, I'd be shocked if they have a workable script that soon... I'd imagine they'd have to rewrite pretty much the whole thing?

2 extra months to completely change BPII to not use its main character feels rushed..

Without Boseman, they could use Jordan. With a logical explanation, I'm sure most would like to see Kilmonger again.

would rather have them contrive a way to bring Jordan back than be stuck with Anti-Vaxx Panther

I feel like it would be believable for Erik to turn a new leaf while he’s dead and in the astral plain or whatever it is. Then he’s brought back to take the throne after T’challa leaves

This string of words is irrationally funny to me right now.

Superheroes are so very dumb, & I love them so very, very much.

I think it would be interesting for Erik to have a new love for the nation of Wakanda and for him to still be a villain or anti-hero when Doom or Namor threaten the region.

I wouldn’t find good guy Erik to be super interesting. It would be a total re-write of the character.

Yeah they would have to square him becoming the Black Panther with his (justified) beliefs from the first movie. Wouldn't be easy, but, again, still would be preferable to a plotline where the new Black Panther travels the world fighting against the evils of vaccinations.

Letitia Wright. She was being skeptical of the covid vaccine being fast-tracked. Basic ignorance that is fine as long as you don't spread it as gospel.

I’d be fine with M’Baku taking the throne too. I see it as either him, shuri or a redeemed Erik.

Do studios also have a say in this? I don’t know how much leverage directors have on location.

I assume whoever is financing the movie has the most say. I don't have faith in Disney standing for anything that matters tbh

  25. With all the respect in the world to Chadwick, who was undoubtedly a wonderful actor and more importantly a wonderful person - I still find it weird that they're not recasting. I would think the character of Black Panther would be important enough as an icon, especially considering the success of the first film that it would make sense to recast in order to really carry on that legacy and share the character with new audiences.

I'm sure they're very confident in the story that they've written, which is great, but nonetheless it just seems a little odd and it's hard to imagine a story that doesn't feel like it has a hole in it without Black Panther actually present. Is he now deceased in the MCU? Just out getting groceries? He's clearly back at the end of Endgame, so some contrived explanation almost feels like more of a disservice to the character.
