Happy for the filmmakers, but tbh there wasn't anything in this one to differentiate it from any other Marvel movie. Can't see why this one would get nominations but Infinity War wouldn't for instance.

Maybe I just need to watch it again.

 

Best Picture is a big stretch. Like I enjoyed the movie, but cmon

 

Same. The movie was good, but no where near best picture. I don't even think it was the best cbm movie of 2018.

 

Putting aside how good it was or wasn't (I loved it and think this is well deserved), i'm super stoked for everyone that worked on it to get this kind of recognition.

 

At the very least, this was a straightforward, standalone story. IW was a mishmash of different plots that required you to see a ton of different movies.

 

They also nominated Bohemian Rhapsody, sooo

 

(And this was way better.)

 

Odd that this got a best picture nomination but nothing in the acting categories for Michael B Jordan. Feel like his performance stood out more than the film as a whole (which was still good and one of the best Marvel films)

 

Awards are dumb, but really good comic book films getting recognition will always make the nerd part of my brain (so, much of it) light up.

Of course, the real best comic book film of 2018 is Into the Spider-Verse, which was nominated for Best Animated Film. That film deserves everything.

 

Nominated for Best Picture! That's mad!

Good for BP but should have been Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse

 

Neat. I was able to get two tickets. Nothing beats a free ticket even if you have get to the theater earlier than usual.

 

Yeah i reserved two as well. I didn’t care about the marvel movies when this was in theaters but I just binged all 20 in like 2 weeks and I’m real glad I get to see one of my favorites on the big screen

 

Apparently Angela Bassett is saying that MBJ will return for BP2. What the fucking hell

There are rumors that Marvel Studios is having trouble deciding on a villain for Black Panther 2 so I wouldn’t hold my breath on him not showing up for at least a few minutes.
