Lol. For context, before parting ways over creative differences, Rick Famuyiwa was supposed to direct the Flash movie for DC.
If his end goal is to be the only one with power, then sure it was a "smart" move. But then that end goal betrays his role as a liberator of the oppressed and makes it even harder to claim he was "right"
I'm not the biggest superhero movie fan, but I definitely enjoyed this. The chemistry among the main cast was absolutely fantastic. Loved the ending scene looking out over Wakanda.
Does anybody have a gif of Daniel Kaluuya shrugging his shoulders? Its during the second combat challenge.
Michael B. Jordan's dad is Michael A. Jordan. That's awesome. I'm glad he's getting more and more out there. Loved him since FNL.
Personally loved this. Digging deeper I definitely see some of the issues others have but I'm not sure I'm in a position to weigh in heavily on those grievances. I will say I'm disappointed Killmonger was killed off though.
Passed $242 million for the four day beating out THE LAST FUCKING JEDI ($241.6). WHAT. Only behind The Force Awakens which opened to $288 million.
If Daniel shrugging his shoulders in the combat sequence doesn’t become a continuously used gif on here I will be very sad.
i mean, that’s great, but a lot of those other weekends don’t have three day weekends and didn’t open at 7 on thursdays
Ya the 3-day weekend makes it hard to really compare with other openings. Even so, this movie has blown past early projections. It'll be interesting to see how much it makes in its total run. edit: Final domestic numbers according to ERC.
The fact this came so close to matching The Avengers on its opening weekend is crazy but hopefully means other superheroes will get a standalone film.
