Just got back. Fucking loved it. Most packed late-night showing I've ever seen and this is when I go see SW films and other big titles on opening weekends.
So I just realized, thanks to John Campeas review, that the introduction with the dad telling the story about Wakanda to his son was Prince N'jobu and Erik. I was assuming T'Challa and T'chaka. Was this obvious to everyone else?
Tried to see this again yesterday, it was sold out at the 2:30 showing! I’ve never been happy to see a movie I was going to see sold out until today lol.
Saw this last night. I was floored by the fact that the levels of action, storytelling, cgi, and character development were all equal. This is one of the best cinematic works Marvel has produced easily. My only gripe may have been how Michael B Jordan delivered some of his lines, sometimes feeling a little cheesy, but other than that his character development as the villain was superb. Much better than previous villains. I can't wait for Infinity War now solely because I know Wakanda plays a major part.
the average white guy in this movie has 1.6/1.75 arms which goes to show that white genocide is real sheeple!!!!! no but seriously this shoots to the top of the MCU films for me. idk if its my favorite but its up there for sure. it retroactively makes AoU a better movie while still being a pretty incredible film in its own right. Wakanda is beautifully realized and is easily the most interesting part of the universe at this point, T'Challa further cements himself as top 3 MCU characters for me, and damn Kilmonger is probably the best villain in the MCU right now.
That is including today. It’s the estimated total after today but it could always be a little higher or lower than the actual number that will be released tomorrow.
It def will cross a billion imo. This will have Manute Bol-esque long legs. Also in 13 weeks, Justice League has made 228m domestically. Black Panther will end up making more in 5 days than JL did in its entire run. Thats crazy.
the kid at the end, in Oakland, who asks T'Challa who he is; that was the kid from Moonlight, right? Alex Hibbert?

Saw this earlier today and though it isn't the best film that is a part of the MCU it certainly beats most of them.
