I think Thanos already has the soul gem.

China will be a challenge but places like Korea and Japan should receive it well. I’m also interested in how African countries receive it. So far out of the two foreign exchange students from Africa that I know one loved it and thought it was great and the other is going to wait until it’s released on Blu ray like all of the other Marvel films. I know it’s only two but maybe African countries will treat it similarily to how it’s treated here. People invested in comic book films will be really interested in it and people who are not will just see it as another movie.

We've never seen it. He knows what he is searching for. He's been looking for at least 6 years. All of the other ones are accounted for. The next movie is about to hit fast and hard. I just think it makes the most sense. I'm not sure why so many of them would have been on Earth to begin with.

If it is in Wakanda then it makes Thor look dumb. He left Earth at the end of Age Of Ultron to find the stones while both the Time and Soul stones were on Earth?

Wakanda kinda makes a bit of sense too though. The meteor could have brought it. And it would explain the battle that looks like Bucky leading Wakandans into battle.

Yeah, I've been advocating the Soul Stone being saved for the opening of Infinity War. Lets one fewer Marvel film prominently feature a Stone. And, I didn't want another one on earth. Plus, the final one popping up in some random cosmic setting sounds like a reasonable instigating incident for Thanos to finally go on his Gauntlet-assembling spree.

It also could explain the power of the heart shaped fruit and the astral walking.

I was just thinking about this, and if the soul stone captures souls, then Michael B. Jordan's character wouldn't have seen his father after consuming it. His father was never a black panther, so would have never consumed it. He didn't die in Wakanda, either. Unless just being from there is enough?

I figured it’d be in Wakanda when T’Challa was talking to the spirits of the dead.

I could see them saying the Soul Stone is buried in Wakanda, but like, the mystical/spiritual side of the Black Panther mantle is pretty dang important. Any creative choice that world take that away by the time Black Panther gets a sequel would be trash.

I don’t know if consuming the Soul Stone would enable someone’s spirit to be seen by their offspring which would cause a hole in Killmonger seeing him dad, or if consuming the Soul Stone would enable the user to see the spirit of the person they desire most.

It would also ruin it happening in the future due to the Stone leaving Wakanda, but if Marvel thinks it will connect Wakanda to Infinity War then they probably think that’s more important. If the Infinity War trailer didn’t show Thanos’ army in Wakanda then I wouldn’t be so sure that the Stone is there, but there has to be a reason a huge battle takes place in that location other than the heroes just gathering there.

Welp, I have a total crush on Shuri and Wright. Her performance really was crucial to the successes of both the fun and emotional aspects to the movie. Her chemistry with Boseman was one of the most natural and believable relationships in the MCU.

I cant wait to talk about this more, but she is easily the highlight coming out of this movie and I want so much more of her character in this universe going forward. Im not watching the Avengers trailers until it comes out so idk if shes in that big group shot, but I hope shes in that movie. (dont tell me if she is please!)

This was great. Loved how they incorporated a lot of race issues very subtlety.

Also the girl from Black Mirror was the best.

I relate to this 100%. Letitia Wright is gorgeous and she seems like a very good person from her Twitter (yes, I follow celebrity crushes on Twitter).

The part at the end with Michael B Jordan “kid from Oakland walking around with thoughts of a fairy tale.”

^ The storyline in those 4 issues carries on through #12. It's a good story. Hopefully that taste of the series brings in some new readers.

Saw it today at 1pm. Sold out show, people applauded at the end. I loved it. Centers black women so well as voices and people of power and places itself as one of the most powerful films within the social commentary context in our time.

    Please go see this film.

And yea, MBJ was so phenomenal in this film.

I loved this. Ill say that it was one of the most emotionally impactful and satisfying movies and stories in all of this genre of movie, even outside of the MCU. A lot of people have gone through the strengths which I agree with all of them.

As for the weaknesses, I thought it started out a little too slow. It took a while for me to get into it and I think only when Erik showed up did I start to engage. A lot of the wider shots felt fake and noticeable green screen at time took me outs. I agree that especially for what we have been getting in other movies the action was extremely underwhelming. The Okoye fight in the casino was great. The car chase scene was great. The fight between the Dora Milaje (yes I looked that up) and Killmonger was really good. The battle between Kaluya's tribe and Black Panther/the Dora Milaje was good. So thats a lot i guess.

but the rest was either incomprehensible or too CG. The last fight scene on the train I didnt like really at all. The fighting looked like a video game. It was hard since they are in black suits in a dark setting, but that it was a bad decision imo. I will say what saves all of those scenes that I thought visually lacked is that there was still emotion behind it and I still cared. The battles for the crown I noticed my whole body was tense and so I definitely cared. Just visually it couldve been better.

Back to the strengths though. Im thinking about it and I think this is easily the strongest ensemble cast of acting we've had in the MCU and one of the best just in general. Boseman, MBJ, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Andy Serkis, Lupita, Kaluuya, STerling K. Brown, Angela Basset, and Danai Gurira. ALL of them were great. Even in the Avengers and Civil War there are a lot of characters but a lot of them are just kind of there. Everyone were given moments to shine and each killed them respectively. You could tell everyone really cared about this movie and had a lot of fun with it.

Cant wait to see this again.
