Honestly didn't think IM3 was anything terrible until the last half hour or so, probably not alone there

I mean, I really can't argue with this, lol. I just also really like Iron Man 3, in spite of not being unadulterated Shane Black. (Man, just imagine if he'd done an Iron Man movie in the age of Taika Waititi, James Gunn, and Ryan Coogler.)

Can't argue with this, either. I'm hoping his Predator movie ends up being good, too.

  3. Iron Man 3 in which Gwyneth gets to be a badass for a bit before mysteriously disappearing from the MCU for a few years? Yeah, definitely better than 2, but that's not a tall order. Both have some pretty memorable fight scenes, though, but most everything else is a bit lacking.

What other superhero movie "kills" its lead? I don't think Tony in Avengers counts because that's a team-up. TDKR (ew) does it as well, but both of those are towards the end.

Even though they are support, Bucky “died” in the first captain America and Loki “died” in Thor 2. Logan successfully killed its lead lol

Batman v. Superman killed Superman. No one cared though.

  7. I mean ... a lot of them actually, one of the biggest flaws SH movies have is killing their villains.

  8. Another movie better than IM3.

  9. Oh right. He didn't come back in that movie, though. Also, sort of a team-up movie even though his name's half the title.

Nobody cared because they showed Doomsday in the final trailer. They gave away the ending of the film right there.

This must be the moment I become an old man at 27 because I have no idea what y'all are talking about. I just thought she was saying "What are those?!" because she was disgusted that he was wearing raggedy sandals. Now I come to find out it's a meme? I guess that's why I didn't think it was cringey at all.

When Killmonger said "Bury me in the ocean where my ancestors jumped from ships because they knew death was better than bondage," the whole theater was like "DAAAAAMMMMMMNNNNNNN".

Haha, that’s pretty funny. Crazy how context changes it so much. I thought two things when I heard it: 1. Yikes 2. This joke won’t make sense in a year or two.

    Just a friendly reminder

I laughed at the "What are those?" joke because I thought it was a joke about how dorky it is for a king to wear sandals so I think the joke will do fine in the future.

My question is, is Killmonger a refugee from a world and global economy built upon violence against black people or is he actually an Imperialist seeking to emulate American Imperialism given his willingness to get to this point by participating in American Imperialism himself?

  18. Okay, but seriously though, is it just me, or is a movie like Death Wish the kind of thing we need the least of right now? White male deals with anger in the worst way possible.

Doesn't help that its pretty off base from the point of the source material.

Wanting to rule every country on earth is definitely not short of imperialism. My take is that his journey started out as a refugee from a system against black people, but as time went on and he racked up kills and hatred for the king of Wakanda, he dove deeper into anger and it become pure hatred. At the end of the film it was apparent that he didn’t care for any of the Wakandans at all and he was willingly to have any of them die just so he could use them in his plan as he took their vibranium.

If Okoye or someone said it I might have cringed, but Shuri seemed like a character that would jokingly reference a meme.

I enjoyed the film. The only flaws for me was the lack of screen time for Erik and the final fight between T’Challa and Erik. The cinematography and acting were the best.
