Thematically Killmonger’s end worked very well. But he didn’t have to be “redeemed” or kept in captivity to still be present in future films. He had so many ideas that could have been pushed further, and would be fascinating if explored more and developed alongside T’Challa’s own growth. Still, it works well as is, too.
Fleeing would add cowardly elements to his character, and might not have pushed T'Challa into doing the right thing at the end. It sucks that he is dead. But that just means he was a meaningful character with a meaningful death
I for one am all down for a killmonger movie or maybe a mini series that covers more of his life before the black panther movie
I was one of the people who “might” have screamed when they saw Bucky. One of my favorite MCU characters. I think my Infinity War hype is at unsatisfiable levels though. Some heroes have to be given side-line roles in Infinity War just for time constraints but I’m glad that it looks like Bucky is gonna be prominent.
I was watching Iron Man 2 and it is hard to believe this film exists in the same universe as that lol no offense to Iron Man 2 fans
Minor(?) complaint: was it really absolutely necessary to use South Korea as a backdrop when there have been so few prominent Asian characters in the MCU? I know this is a huge deal for representation, so I won't diminish that, but like, when is it our turn? When are they going to make up for Doctor Strange and Iron Fist? Are we just good for a nice setting for a few action scenes to take place?
damn is Michael B Jordan smooth "sup princess" and "when I say shit I mean it" or whatever that second one was killed it Killmonger was def a great villain and I liked that they acknowledged that his ideas had some merit even if his actions didn't Killmonger Was Right - Black Panther - T-Shirt | TeePublic that was quick it's hard for me to think about slavery and the Afghan war and stuff like that being Marvel canon, does this mean 9/11 canonically happened in the MCU
Killmonger was a great villain but I’m going to imagine that people who wear this shirt skipped the part where he wanted to destroy every single race and culture that he didn’t belong to while exploiting a country of its resources for his benefit. Also, I’m pretty sure our history is the MCU history. Nothing has contradicted it so far. In The Winter Solider, the moon landing, Berlin Wall (up and down) and Steve Jobs (Apple) are all three on the notepad that Sam gives Steve. I’ve always wondered what significance an iPod or iPhone could bring in a universe with Stark technology though.
I wanted to see how cheesy Whiplash was 8 years later and I couldn’t finish the movie. The random AC/DC songs, the dumb dialogue, the emotionless villain. It’s ugly.
Iron Man 3 is certainly an upgrade from Iron Man 2. The story, dialogue, and music definitely improved, but I think villains have been the weakest part of all three Iron Man films.
This was great, especially Michael B. Jordan. Whole cast killed it, though. South Korea sequence was so smooth. Only a few minor complaints, but definitely and finally the most unique thing Marvel has done for a number of reasons. That “What are those?” bit could’ve been a disaster, but they nailed the transition and timing that it caught me so off guard it was hilarious. And I will never forget the feeling of wanting to walk out of Iron Man 3 as soon as the Ben Kingsley reveal happened.
Ranking Iron Man 3 above the first one is gross, but I'll always be Team Iron Man 3 Is A Good Movie. I've watched it every Christmas season since it came out. Anyways, um, Black Panther is very good.
The more I think about it, the more the Casino/Car Chase scene becomes tied for my favorite part of the film along with the scene when Killmonger defeats T’Challa. The dread in that scene was top notch.
