I blame Marvel movies, as much as I like them. Obviously, action must be a requirement but in films like Age of Ultron some of the action sequences feel like they are there because the creative team just kind of figured one should be there (Hulkbuster vs. Hulk for example). Maybe solo Marvel movies will learn some restraint with their action when it suits the story because of this film. I also find it funny that another 3/5 review that sounded rather negative (but in this case was 'fresh') was from another Irish publication. The white Irish reviewers are not nearly as impressed as everybody else!
I dunno. Plenty of Marvel movies have showcased plot and emotions over or equal to the punching. People who are familiar with Marvel films should know that non-stop superhero action isn’t a guarantee. I noticed it was from an Irish publication as well but what can you do.
I always thought the MCU movies have the perfect amount of fighting. They balance humor, drama, story, characters and action pretty perfectly. Isn't that why they are so well received?
I mean the overwhelming majority of the opinions on the MCU I see generally agree that they need to invest more in their character development, especially with their villains, and try out new things with their plots rather than just focus on the spectacle (and I agree wholeheartedly). So now we have one that sounds like it does all those things and of course there's a critic out there immediately ready to stand up and say "moar punching less politics hurr durr."
I'm listening to the album now and it's pretty f*cking cool that this has actually happened for this movie.
I expect lots of think pieces about how the user scores are so different than the critic scores just like TLJ.
I really hope the losers who do this dont find Letterboxd. People obviously dont use that rating like RT or IMDB's rating, but still.
Probably. Im sure most are safe since imdb and RT user scores are the only ones that are consistently referenced.

My friends and are I getting tickets for it opening night. I'm getting myself hyped but also not going in with super big expectations so it will be even better when I see it.
