Music video for "All The Stars" anyone know if the Black Panther soundtrack is getting a physical release? specifically a vinyl release?
It’s amazing that the 18th MCU film can still be vastly different in tone and deliver something unique. Marvel Studios truly has a great library of films that will be cherished years from now.
legit didn't see that, hahah. i'm cool off buying any CD's tho, i'm really hoping they make a vinyl special edition sometime soon.
The Guardians albums were released by the labels Hollywood and Marvel Music while the Black Panther soundtrack is being released by Interscope, Top Dawg, and Aftermath. I have no idea of the likelihood of vinyl releases under those labels but that might be why a vinyl isn't available for pre order. A vinyl release most likely just isn't ready yet.

I love this new trend of reviewers giving movies positive scores but entering their reviews as “Rotten” on Rotten Tomatoes just to ruin perfect 100%’s.
Does RT decide if it’s rotten or positive or does the critic that submits their review? There’s always that one reviewer who gives a negative review just to receive clicks. The rotten review is also a 3/5. I’ve seen 3/5 reviews that have been positive on RT so that’s confusing.
Rotten Tomatoes is dumb. People forget that it is when a movie's aggregate score fits their own personal narrative, but it's still dumb.
Rotten Tomatoes is not dumb. It can actually be a useful way to get a “thumbs up/thumbs down” sense of what critics think of movies when it’s used honestly, i.e. not by critics with an agenda. People forget that it is when dogpiling on it for the wrong reasons.
What's "the wrong reasons"? I've checked it out before out of curiosity, just to see what the general reception and potentially narrative of a film is. There is some value that can be pulled from it. But, "some value" doesn't negate "dumb."
90% of the time, when I see people dogpiling on Rotten Tomatoes they're just expressing a generalized sentiment that the site is "dumb" and the idea of it has no value and nobody should be paying attention to it. Substance-free bashing is really unhelpful and also doesn't reinforce the person's point. It just makes it seem like they personally don't like it but don't even know why. It's not dumb. On top of the fact that it's a well-known place where hundreds of reviews are aggregated for easy access, the binary "liked it/didn't like it" nature of the Tomatometer is honestly far better than arbitrary numerical scores assigned by reviewers (and we can see that sole reliance on numerical scores is outdated in that a growing number of modern critics, both in print and on YouTube, are eschewing them). It harkens back to the Siskel & Ebert days of just straight-up "we liked it" or "we didn't like it." In that way, it can be far more helpful to users, especially to the crowd who likes to say "I don't pay attention to review scores." But it's not perfect. There are legitimate criticisms to be made. Like, for example, how a critic with an agenda can essentially misrepresent their reviews on purpose to make some kind of "statement." We saw the same thing happen with Lady Bird a few months ago, where a critic submitted their review as "Rotten" just because, as the reviewer admitted outright, the reviewer felt that the movie didn't deserve to be 100% fresh. I think the same thing happened here. And it's not about me personally stanning for these movies and demanding they be 100%, it's about how stupid games like this can diminish the value of the system. So that's a problem that should be criticized because it would make the system better. But even as it currently stands, it has a lot of value and isn't "dumb."
That could be fixed if RT laid out a rule that any review that is higher than 50 (nothing below 3/5, 6/10, etc.) has to be submitted as a positive review. When a critic submits multiple 3/5 reviews but labels some as negative and others as positive then it kind of seems like they don’t know their own scores. I don’t personally care a lot about reviews and just see them as a fun game, but I do notice inconsistency among some critics.
Why does almost every thread on this site devolve into a RT argument? It's a decent but flawed system that people treat too seriously
RT has always been useful to me, the scores tend to be pretty accurate for the movies and shows I've looked at
I find it pretty funny that the one 'rotten review' comes from someone who wishes there was more superhero punching in a film everyone else agrees is good because it isn't just about superhero punching.
