Wow I'm a fucking idiot hahaha I bought my ticket to the movie and everything and didn't see the date, I just assumed it was for this Thursday. Color me insanely embarrassed lol.

 

Managed to get the day off work for this. Not gonna miss a Marvel midnight screening.

For those who care, the early reactions (the ones I've seen at least) are pretty much calling this one of the best CBMs ever

I’m glad MBJ can have success with a comic book role and won’t be attached to F4 anymore.

 

This is the first Marvel movie I've been interested enough to go see in the theater in a very, very long time. I'm actually excited for a Marvel movie, which is quite weird as I despise most of them. I hope this makes a killing and it seems like it will.

He's too good of an actor. I don't think that F4 being a giant POS negatively impacted his career much at all. The Wire, Creed, Fruitvale Station, etc.

 

Agreed. I've never watched The Wire but his performances in Creed and Fruitvale Station were excellent. Him teaming up with Ryan Coogler seems to always yield great results.

 

I'm excited about the political side of this movie. But, while I don't doubt that this goes further than anything before it, I hope the responses to this don't ignore Thor: Ragnarok's critique of imperialism.

Anyways, this is the one upcoming comic book film that currently has a real chance at usurping the Guardians films for me. I really think it will, too. The hype is real.

 

Everyone keeps saying "$100 million predicted for box office." I really think this is one that really rises up and could even take the February record. Great reviews, stellar cast, and a time when the political message has a chance to be impactful.

 

outside of the realm of SW hype, I don't think I've been this excited for a movie in a while. Everything looks so freaking good.

 

Ya I think I read it's tracking for 100-120m opening weekend, but I wouldn't be surprised if it got around 140m.

 

Donald Glover posted a tweet praising the movie before he went and deleted all of his tweets from his account lol. I'm so pumped for this.

 

This will be the first comic book movie in recent years that I'll go into blind (minus the first two trailers). Pretty stoked.
