It looks like that because that’s how the new mask looks in some of the film.

Honestly, I do think this beats Deadpool for largest February opening. Everything is going well for it. It just seems like a great production and marketing effort for a movie I'm glad audiences are massively anticipating.

I can't wait for the people who were surprised by Wonder Woman's success to be surprised by this movie's success. Though I'm sure some of those people will somehow still argue that white male leads in superhero films are smarter financial decisions.

Are we comparing it to WW because it involves a non-white male cast? Confused where the two relate.

WW was a movie that eschewed the traditional white male superhero lead. It’s main character was a woman from a secret island filled with women that created an idyllic society. And it’s director was a woman, a first for DC superhero films.

Black Panther is a movie that eschews the traditional white male superhero lead. It’s main character is an African male from a secret African country that created an idyllic society. It’s director is a black man, a first for Marvel superhero films.

Seems like there is plenty of reasons to compare, just off the top of my head.

What are you talking about? It opens 2/16. (Thursday, 2/15, technically...)

Yep. And in this white-dude-dominated film genre, that's unfortunately enough to make the films' performances comparable. (I could see a strong case for Suicide Squad being in that conversation, too, though I hate to bring such an awful film into this, lol.)

I'm glad we have Captain Marvel, Silver & Black, Aquaman, and Wonder Woman 2 on the horizon so that superhero films not starring white dudes can stop being the exception to the rule.

This is all fair, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something else I was missing as far as the comic book aspect goes.
