Ending to shut up and dance really pissed me off (spoilers also contain white bear spoilers) Not only did revealing the guy wasn't just looking at porn not really change any of the central themes of the episode, they intentionally tricked the audience through a 'you know whats happening, fade to black' scene getting you to sympathize with a character that actually didn't deserve sympathy. The "reveal at the end of the episode the character you're sympathizing with" twist worked with White Bear because "was she deserving of this punishment even though she had no memory of what she did wrong" was a core part of the entire episode. The reveal about her past was as much a shock to her as it was to the viewer. But here, they just lied to us about what the kid did so we would mistakenly sympathize with him. An anotherwise interesting story about how societies sex-negative culture results in still being able to blackmail a kid for doing something everyone does is completely ruined.
I still haven't seen 2 episodes but I think my favorites would be White Bear and the christmas one. I dunno. I'm generally impressed with all of them haha

keep in mind im a big Twilight Zone and Tales From The Crypt fan so im biased holy shit i love this show already. 3 episodes in and its fantastic. after i watched the first episode i was like "wow, thats a pretty hard jab at David Cameron" and then i looked it up and that episode debuted in 2013, 2 years before Piggate which only makes it funnier. i cant wait to watch the rest of the series
it was sloppily written, acted and directed? the “twist” was pretty obvious from the beginning?? also, maybe don’t try to make your audience sympathize with pedophiles???
it's always weird to me that that's what people take out of shut up and dance (which is the second best episode of the series next to the national anthem)
You find it weird that that people felt uncomfortable that an episode needlessly tricked them into sympathizing with a pedophile and that strongly colored their views on the episode?
what? An episode of a TV show can absolutely use its storytelling devices to feel certain ways about characters. That is what good television does. If it makes you feel one way about a character, and then reveals something new that changes that feeling, how is that not a trick?
uh i could post the definition of what a trick is if that would help? i felt like they gave enough information away to the audience throughout the episode about what the main character was doing so that the viewer could piece together what was happening for themselves. that reveal wasn't the "twist" in the episode to me
